TL;DR
Hogwarts Legacy gets DLSS 5 on November 5.
War Thunder follows mid-November; Where Winds Meet November 24.
RTX 50 Series and RTX Spark only; no RTX 40.
NVIDIA is bringing DLSS 5 with 3D-Guided Neural Rendering to three more games this November. Hogwarts Legacy gets the update on November 5. War Thunder follows in mid-November. Where Winds Meet arrives November 23 in North America and November 24 worldwide. You need a GeForce RTX 50 Series GPU or an RTX Spark system to run it. RTX 40 Series cards miss out.
What DLSS 5 actually does?
DLSS 5 isn’t an upscaler. DLSS Super Resolution sharpens a low-res frame. DLSS 5 steps in after upscaling and uses an AI model, guided by the game’s 3D data, to repaint lighting, materials, shadows, and reflections. It works at your output resolution. Lowering your internal render resolution won’t save you much performance. That’s the tradeoff, and it’s why NVIDIA bundles it with frame generation.

Hogwarts Legacy: November 5
Avalanche Software and Warner Bros. Games are adding DLSS 5 on November 5 in an update that also brings the game’s other DLSS features up to their latest versions. It will be available on RTX 50 Series desktops and laptops, RTX Spark systems, and GeForce NOW.
This feels like a redemption arc. Hogwarts Legacy was the game that got DLSS 5 into hot water. The March demo drew criticism for making faces look overworked. For the final release, Avalanche used the DLSS 5 SDK controls to match the game’s art style. Early comparisons show changes to environments, materials, and lighting, but characters now look as the artists intended.

NVIDIA’s headline number is up to 300 FPS at 4K on an RTX 5090. That’s with Ray Reconstruction, ray tracing, Reflex, and 6X Multi Frame Generation all enabled. The number checks out, but it’s not the one that matters. At 6X, most of what you see is generated, not rendered. What really counts is how the game feels to play, and that needs independent testing.

War Thunder: mid-November
Gaijin Entertainment adds DLSS 5 to its Eagle’s Shadow update, along with new aircraft, ships, tanks, and cluster bombs for planes. NVIDIA says it boosts highlights, shadows, and microcontrast. The company claims up to 400 FPS at 4K in its ground battle benchmark, again with up to 6X frame generation.
War Thunder players don’t usually care about prettier graphics. They want to spot a tank on a ridge two kilometers away before it spots them. Frame generation adds input latency, and Reflex only partly offsets that. An AI pass that changes contrast could help or hurt visibility. I expect serious players will use this for replays and screenshots, not ranked matches, unless testing proves otherwise.
Still, seeing a free-to-play game get NVIDIA’s flagship rendering feature stands out. It shows NVIDIA wants DLSS 5 in games with big audiences, not just prestige single-player titles.
Where Winds Meet: November 23 and 24
Everstone Studio and NetEase Games’ Wuxia open-world RPG has topped 100 million players worldwide. NVIDIA says DLSS 5 arrives after strong player demand, and the studio pushed DLSS 5’s settings further than the other two games.
This is the best fit of the three. Where Winds Meet is an open world where light on fabric, water, and stone drives the appeal. If DLSS 5 has a future, it’s in games like this.

- If you own an RTX 40 Series card, you don’t get DLSS 5. NVIDIA says DLSS Frame Generation now runs faster on these cards.
What DLSS 5 costs in India
DLSS 5 needs an RTX 50 Series GPU, and that’s an expensive entry ticket in India. Memory shortages have pushed many partner cards well above launch pricing, and 18 percent GST stacks on top of import costs.
If you play a story-driven game like Hogwarts Legacy, paying extra for better lighting is a personal choice. For a free-to-play game like War Thunder, it’s a tougher sell.
Cloud streaming is the cheaper route. NVIDIA lists GeForce NOW as a supported platform for DLSS 5 in Hogwarts Legacy. Streaming quality depends on your distance from the server and your home connection. Test it during peak hours before you commit to a long subscription.

Frequently asked questions
When does DLSS 5 come to Hogwarts Legacy?
November 5, 2026. The update also upgrades the game’s other DLSS features to their latest versions.
When does War Thunder get DLSS 5?
In mid-November, as part of Gaijin Entertainment’s Eagle’s Shadow update. NVIDIA has not given an exact date.
What is the Where Winds Meet DLSS 5 release date?
November 23 in North America and November 24 everywhere else, including India.
Does DLSS 5 work on RTX 40 Series GPUs?
No. DLSS 5 neural rendering requires a GeForce RTX 50 Series GPU or an RTX Spark system. RTX 40 Series cards get faster DLSS Frame Generation instead.
Does DLSS 5 lower your frame rate?
Yes, turning on neural rendering by itself costs performance, though NVIDIA says its October model halved that overhead. Its 300 FPS and 400 FPS figures depend on up to 6X Multi Frame Generation.
Is DLSS 5 the same as DLSS upscaling?
No. Upscaling sharpens a lower-resolution image. DLSS 5 uses AI to rework the lighting and materials of the finished frame at your output resolution.
