TL; DR
  • Suzuki unveiled the new XL7 at the 2026 Indonesia Motor Show, previewing the Maruti XL6 facelift.
  • Key changes include a wider gloss-black grille, a new bumper, a 9-inch touchscreen, and a rear spoiler.
  • The engine and transmissions are unchanged; a CNG variant with a claimed 26.23 km/kg is also expected.

Suzuki and Maruti share platforms and products across Southeast Asia, and one of the most reliable ways to preview what India is getting next is to track what Indonesia gets first. At the 2026 Indonesia Motor Show, Suzuki has revealed the new XL7, essentially a preview of the Maruti XL6 facelift heading to India before year’s end.

Maruti XL6 Facelift: Interior Changes

Inside, though, the changes are minimal. The dashboard gets a glossy texture and a larger 9-inch touchscreen, which, in my opinion, is the most meaningful interior upgrade. All other features, including the 360-degree camera, automatic climate control, roof-mounted AC vents for row two, cruise control, and TPMS; all of them carry over.

The K15B 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine returns as well, making 102 bhp and 137 Nm. However, unlike the newly launched Brezza, the XL6 facelift could still retain five-speed manual and six-speed torque-converter automatic options for India. A CNG variant with a claimed efficiency of 26.23 km/kg will also be offered, but again, it could come with the five-speed transmission.

To me, it sounds like this is a conservative facelift rather than a transformative one. Maruti’s XL6 sits in a niche between the Ertiga and the Innova, and there, a design refresh plus a larger screen is probably enough to keep it relevant through 2028.
