Triumph has finally taken the wraps off its Tiger 1200 motorcycle, which brings several important changes to the bike. The Triumph Tiger 1200 will be offered in four variants globally – the GT Pro, GT Explorer, Rally Pro, and the Rally Explorer. The brand has confirmed that the Triumph Tiger 1200 will launch in India somewhere around March 2027 and will only bring the GT Pro and Rally Explorer variants initially.

The updated Tiger 1200 features an updated design, which gives new design details to the fuel tank, the radiator cowls, the windscreen, and the bike’s beak also looks slightly different now, giving it a fresh and slightly more aggressive look.

The new motorcycle also comes with an updated 1,160cc liquid cooled engine that now makes 158 bhp of power and 130 Nm of torque, revving all the way up to 9,250RPM. This is 8 bhp more than the outgoing Triumph Tiger 1200 and the peak torque also comes at a lower rev range. Triumph has achieved this by putting a redesigned cylinder head, pistons, and exhaust, along with lighter intake and exhaust valves with more precise fuel injection.

The bike has also moved to 19-inch front wheels and 17-inch rear wheels. The GT models will come with cast aluminium wheels, while the Rally variants will come with spoke wheels. The weight of the GT Pro will be 250 kg, the Rally Pro will weigh 255kg, and the GT Explorer will weigh 260 kg.

Triumph says that with the optional low seat fitted and the automatic function active, the seat height at standstill can be as low as 790mm.

In terms of the brakes, the Triumph Tiger 1200 uses twin 320mm front discs with Brembo calipers and a 282mm disc at the rear. There is a 20-litre fuel tank on the Pro variants, while the Explorer variants get a 30-litre fuel tank. Apart from this, the new Tiger 1200 gets a tyre pressure monitor, lower engine bars and handlebars, which are now 10mm taller and wider.

Other features include a front and rear radar system which enables adaptive cruise control on this bike. There is also a group ride assist feature, forward collision warning, emergency brake assist, blind spot assist, a new 7-inch TFT touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as standard. Yes, premium bikes also have wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
