Upcoming Smartphones Expected To Be Powered By Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 Chipset

 The eagerly awaited introduction of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is set for October, heralding the arrival of the company’s state-of-the-art mobile chipset. As tech enthusiasts anticipate its launch, speculation intensifies about the flagship smartphones that will leverage its capabilities. Recent reports indicate that Xiaomi has formed an exclusive alliance with Qualcomm, allowing it to be the first to present the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 in its forthcoming devices.

Consequently, the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro are expected to be the first smartphones to feature this innovative SoC, paving the way for a new standard in mobile performance. Xiaomi’s exclusive agreement covers the initial launch period of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, with other manufacturers, including OnePlus and iQOO, planning their releases shortly thereafter.

Here are the seven upcoming smartphones expected to be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset.

1. Xiaomi 15

The Xiaomi 15 will be the first smartphone to be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset. It is expected to come with a 6.36-inch 1.5K touchscreen with 120Hz refresh rate and 1400 nits brightness. The device will have up to 16GB RAM and up to 1TB storage. Under the hood will be a 4800-4900mAh powerhouse with 100W wired and 50W wireless fast charging. Xiaomi 15 will be IP68 rated and sport a 50MP main sensor at the back. At the front will be a 32MP selfie sensor. The Xiaomi 15 is tipped to cost around Rs. 50,000 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.

2. Xiaomi 15 Pro

The second in the series, Xiaomi 15 Pro will also be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset. It is said to feature a 6.73-inch 2K screen with 120Hz refresh rate and 1400 nits brightness. It is expected to draw juice from a 5400mAh battery with 120W wired and 80W wireless charging speed. It will have the same IP rating, selfie camera, and maximum RAM and storage as Xiaomi 15. At the back will be a 50MP main sensor along with 50MP ultrawide and an unnamed 50MP telephoto sensor at the back. The Xiaomi 15 Pro is rumored to cost around Rs. 62,000 for the base model.

3. Xiaomi 15 Ultra

Similar to Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro, Xiaomi 15 Ultra will also be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC. It is tipped to flaunt a quad camera setup including a 200MP main sensor. Reports claim it will have a dual-layer OLED display with 2K resolution and an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor for security. It is expected to run Android 15 based on HyperOS 2.0 out of the box.

4. iQOO13

The next flagship by iqoo, iQOO 13 5G will be the next to be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset. Tipster Digital Chat Station claims that the iQOO 13 will have a 2K LTPO display with at least 144Hz refresh rate and feature an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. The iQOO 13 is rumored to pack a 6000mAh battery and might go official in November 2024.

4. OnePlus 13

Details about the upcoming OnePlus 13 have also surfaced online courtesy of leakster Digital Chat Station. OnePlus 13 will be the first by OnePlus to be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC and feature an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. The smartphone is expected to flaunt a 2K LTPO OLED curved panel and be IP69 rated. OnePlus is also expected to pack a 6100mAh battery with 100W charging. In terms of the camera, there will be a 50MP main sensor along with a 48MP ultrawide and 64MP periscope telephoto lens. OnePlus 13 is expected to launch in November or December 2024.

5. Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset. In terms of camera, it will sport a 200MP main sensor along with a 3x zoom and 5x periscope zoom lens. The Galaxy S25 Ultra is rumored to pack a 5000mAh battery with 45W wired fast charging speed. It will run One UI 7 based on Android 15 out of the box. The Ultra model is expected to be slimmer than its predecessor.

6. Realme GT 7 Pro 5G

Speculations are rife that the Realme GT 7 Pro smartphone might be the first by Realme to get 300W fast charging support and be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset. It is expected to be announced in October 2024 and be loaded with top-notch specs in terms of display, battery, design, and camera performance.

7. Moto Edge 60 Ultra

Motorola Edge 60 Ultra will launch in mid-2025. Motorola might power it with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset with up to 16GB RAM and up to 1TB storage. In terms of camera, Moto Edge 60 Ultra will reportedly have a 50MP main, 50MP ultrawide, and 64MP telephoto sensors at the back. In terms of design, it might take the legacy of Moto Edge 50 Ultra forward while the display is expected to be a 1220×2712 pixel panel with a 144Hz refresh rate.
