OPPO’s upcoming Find X8 series will come with a new game-changing feature—AI-powered reflection removal. Recently showcased on the Chinese microblogging site, Weibo, by an OPPO executive, the feature delivered some incredible results.

The image, taken in Chengdu, was impressive, but glass reflections marred its quality. Using the Find X8’s AI reflection removal tool, the executive quickly eliminated the unwanted reflections in under four seconds, and the results were very good.

The executive shared the before and after and also shared a video of the removal process, indicating that it’s pretty fast. From what we can see, it took less than 4 seconds to remove the unwanted reflection and make the photo looks miles better.

The executive also invited users on Weibo to submit their own photos with reflections, offering to edit them himself. He followed through, removing reflections from user-submitted images, and the results continued to impress.

Though reflection removal technology isn’t entirely new—both Huawei and Samsung have offered similar tools in the past—OPPO’s implementation is impressive because of its speed and the near-perfect results. This tool could become a game-changer for photography enthusiasts who often struggle with unwanted reflections in their shots.

The OPPO Find X8 series is expected to be revealed on October 21 in China. In India, the series could be released by November or December 2024. The OPPO Find X8 series with all the great hardware and software is very exciting and we can’t wait for it to be officially unveiled.
