Samsung is expected to unveil its next-generation smartwatches at next month’s Galaxy Unpacked event, and a new leak has now revealed fresh details about the Galaxy Watch9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2.
According to the leak, Samsung is making a few noticeable design changes across the lineup this year. The standard Galaxy Watch9 is said to adopt a slightly boxier design compared to previous non-Ultra Galaxy Watch models, bringing it visually closer to Samsung’s premium smartwatch lineup.
The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, meanwhile, is expected to retain the rugged look of its predecessor while introducing a few refinements. The upcoming model is said to feature thinner bezels and a redesigned side button area. One of the more subtle changes involves the watch’s signature orange Quick Button, which will reportedly feature an orange outline instead of a fully orange finish.

Samsung is also said to be standardizing some accessories across the range. Both the Galaxy Watch9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 are expected to ship with the same default strap design, although the placement of the strap holes will differ between the two models.
For the Galaxy Watch9, Samsung is reportedly preparing several new band color options, including beige, black with a bluish tint, and a silver variant paired with a green band.
Interestingly, the leak suggests Samsung won’t launch a Galaxy Watch Classic model this year. Instead, the company is expected to focus solely on the standard Galaxy Watch9 and the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2.

The leak also sheds light on battery capacities. The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 is tipped to pack a 500 mAh battery, while the standard Galaxy Watch9 could feature a 400 mAh cell. The larger battery in the Ultra model should help support its more demanding feature set and rugged use cases.
Samsung is widely expected to unveil both smartwatches at its Galaxy Unpacked event in London next month, where the company is also rumored to introduce its next generation of foldables and tablets. Both watches are expected to run One UI 9 Watch.
