Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ (Plus) are no more a subject of speculation as the Korean technology giant made it official at the unpacked event held today in NewYork. Both phones were nothing short of the worst kept secret since more or less most of the specification and features had already leaked ahead of the official unpacking. None the less, Samsung’s 2017 flagships have a lot to impress, including the new design line and the Infinity display.

The S8 and S8+ come with 5.8-inch and 6.2-inch bezel-less curved edge-to-edge Super AMOLED displays. The new duo has also earned HDR 10 premium certification. Samsung has made home button invisible and it’s now placed underneath the display. This button also relays haptic feedback just like the new iPhones.

Samsung claims that it has taken its camera to the next level by adding a multi-frame processor to the Galaxy S7’s 12-megapixel dual pixel camera. For selfie lover, Samsung has added an 8MP autofocus camera on the front. Both phones come with IP68 water and dust resistant.

Besides top-notch hardware, the Galaxy S8 will be running Android 7.0 Nougat based software. Samsung has also integrated Bixby, a new smart assistant with the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. Unlike other smart bots, this one has control over Galaxy S8 hardware as well. For instance, you can simply ask it to click the building in front of you and send it to any person in your contact list.
