The Galaxy S8 is the latest smartphone in Samsung's Galaxy series of smartphones as well as its newest flagship handset. It was unveiled alongside its bigger (only in size) cousin, the S8 Plus, and remained a core subject of speculation till its launch.
Coming to the specifications, it sports a 5.8-inch QHD+ Super AMOLED, edge-to-edge display, which has Gorilla Glass 5 protecting it on the top and has HDR 10 premium certification. The phone sports the very latest Android 7.0 Nougat OS and is powered an octa-core processor (Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 or Exynos 9 Series 8895, depending on the geography).
To support the processor, there are two RAMs available (4GB and 6GB) and the inbuilt storage capacity also varies as 64GB and 128GB respectively.
In the optics department, the Galaxy S8 is laden with a 12MP dual pixel camera on the back having features like LED Flash, f/1.7 aperture, while for selfies, an 8MP camera has been placed, that comes in with the same aperture as the one on the rear.
The phone packs in a 3,000mAh power unit that is there keep the things alive, and is apparently 'explosion-proof' too. Another notable addition herein is the inclusion of the company's very own Bixby AI assistant, making the phone (and the Galaxy S8), the first from Samsung's roster to do so.
Also, the phone comes bundled with a pair of wired Harmon AKG headphones costing around $99. The device is set to be up for pre-orders starting 20th April in the UK, though there is no information about its availability timeline in the country as of yet. The Samsung Galaxy S8 best price in India is 57,900INR.
