Samsung Galaxy A8+ 2018 with Infinity display and dual Selfie camera Launched: Price, Specs, Features

Samsung starts 2018 on a competitive note with the launch of its mid-tier smartphone Galaxy A8 Plus (2018). The new smartphone is much inspired by the current flagship tier – Galaxy S8 and Galaxy Note 8- which is what the A-series has always been about.

Samsung Galaxy A8 Plus 2018 Features and Highlights

Design continues to take center stage with the first A-series phone. The Galaxy A8+ 2018 comes with an all-glass and metal design, further glorified with a bezel-less Infinity display on the front along with Samsung’s first ever dual selfie camera setup.

The device also supports Samsung Pay mobile payments and can make payments at both MST and NFC. Samsung also retains IP 68 rated water and dust resistance.

The Galaxy A8+ flaunts a 6-inch full HD+ S-AMOLED screen (2200X1080 pixels) with an 18.5:9 aspect ratio and a Gorilla Glass protection on top. It’s furled by an octa-core Exynos7885 Octa chipset clocking up to 2.2GHz. The Exynos Chipset is supported by Mali-G71 GPU and 6 GB RAM. The phone comes with 64GB internal storage along with a dedicated microSD card slot.

In optics, the Galaxy A8 Plus 2018 features a dual front camera setup of 16MP + 8MP with a f/1.9 aperture on both sensors. This Samsung’s Selfie centric phone supports Portrait mode and Live Focus feature for the front camera. AR style stickers are also available in the camera app. on the rear side,  it boasts of a16MP with f/1.7 aperture, PDAF and autofocus.

Samsung Galaxy A8+ 2018 Price and Availability

The Galaxy A8 Plus 2018 will be an Amazon exclusive and will be available for purchase starting January 20. For India, Samsung has set Galaxy A8 Plus 2018 price at Rs. 32,990. Considering the Galaxy A8+ Plus India price, it will compete with likes of Xiaomi Mi Mix 2, OnePlus 5T, and the Honor View 10 as all of them priced in the same price bracket.
