Social media platforms were flooded with reports of inaccurate touchscreen inputs as several Galaxy S23 users updated to One UI 6.1. While the issue wasn’t present in a Galaxy S23 Ultra unit at hand, it affects many users. Here’s everything we know about the Galaxy S23 display and a temporary fix that the company recommends.

What’s The Issue With Galaxy S23’s Screen?

According to several social media posts, Galaxy S23 (review) users face issues related to inaccurate smartphone touch inputs. The problem started showing up after users updated their smartphones to the latest One UI 6.1 update, which began rolling out to the Galaxy S23 series, the Galaxy Z Fold/Flip 5, and the Tab S9 series later last month. Apart from the inaccurate touch issues, the update is also causing charging and fingerprint scanner problems on the supported models.

For now, the inaccurate touchscreen problem seems to affect all the models in the Galaxy S23 series, including the vanilla Galaxy S23, the Galaxy S23 Plus, and the Galaxy S23 Ultra (review). Samsung’s Korean website has published a blog post acknowledging the issue. In the post, the Korean tech giant blames Google’s Discover Feed for creating the touchscreen issues.

How To Fix The Touchscreen Issues With Galaxy S23?

To temporarily solve the touchscreen issues with the Galaxy S23 series on One UI 6.1, users can update the Google app to the latest available version. To do this, head to the Play Store, search for the Google app and then hit the Update button.

Following this, they should delete the app’s data by heading to Settings > Applications > Google > Storage. Here, users should delete the app’s data. Then, they should restart their smartphone to see if the problem persists. Remember, this is a temporary solution, and Samsung has yet to provide a long-term fix for the problem.

On the brighter side, Google has acknowledged the issue and is working on a permanent solution.
