One of the major incremental upgrades on Android Nougat from the previous Android software was its split screen view. The feature allows you to split your smartphone viewfinder into two halves so that you can operate two different apps, simultaneously.

Well, the feature is fantastic no doubt! But it lacks running the same app on the split-screen. Imagine you are using your WhatsApp and you have to keep count on two chat windows at the same time obviously, the split-screen option would have been the best, but you can’t-do it because your software lacks at that front.

To help you nail that we have found an app that will split your viewfinder into two halves for the same app. Read on to find out, how:

Note: You can repeat the same procedure on your Android Oreo smartphone.

Step 1

The first step will be to download and install the Parallel Windows for Nougat and Oreo from the Google Play Store on your Android Nougat or Android Oreo running smartphones.

Step 2

Once installed, open the app. The first boot will direct you to the disclaimer, tap on the checkbox reading ‘I have read and understood’ and press ‘Continue‘. (If you are Android Oreo user one more disclaimer will appear, just check it and tap on Continue)

Step 3

After agreeing to terms and conditions, the app will draw you to the main app window. Here grant the app permission to ‘Draw Over Other Apps‘ and ‘Enable the Accessibility Service‘.

Step 4

The follow-up screen will allow you to customize the various facets of the sidebar- you can adjust its height, width and position, according to your preferences. This sidebar will be hidden and will remain active in the background, and can be later used to open multiple screens of the same app while being in split-screen mode.

Step 5

The final step is how to split the screen? After configuration, exit from the app and open an app you want to use in split-screen. Then, left swipe from the right edge of the screen to see the option for split screen and select the third option. Now, you will be asked to ‘Select An App To Mirror‘, choose the same app you want in split-screen mode.
