realme 16T: Key Features

Durability is one of the strongest suits of the device. The realme 16T carries both an IP68 and IP69 Pro ratings, alongside an MIL-STD-810H certification. It also features a four-layer ArmorShell drop protection structure.

First and foremost, the phone features a 6.8-inch HD+ LCD screen with 975 nits of typical brightness and a 144Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the phone runs on the Dimensity 6300 (6nm) chipset, which is definitely one of the weak points at the price.

Out of the box, the phone runs on realme UI 7.0 (based on Android 16). What’s odd is that the company hasn’t specified the years for which the phone will get Android and security updates. However, it claims that the phone will run smoothly for up to six years.

Regarding optics, the phone features a 50MP (f/1.8) Sony IMX852 primary camera, along with a 2MP (f/2.4) monochrome camera, and a 16MP (f/2.4) IMX480 selfie camera on the front. What’s unique is that the phone has a mirror at the back, alongside the rear camera, to help people capture high-quality pictures of themselves.

The headline act of the smartphone is its 8,000 mAh battery, which easily provides a screen-on time of around 13 to 14 hours. It supports 45W wired charging, which refills the phone up to50% in around 50 minutes.

The phone also provides bypass charging, a useful feature for gamers, and should retain around 80% of its peak battery capacity over a period of seven years.
