Oppo has officially launched its new budget Android smartphone, Oppo Neo 7 in India for 9,900 INR. The new Neo series smartphone has a mirror like fiber glass back, which is a result of 13 layers of coating refined through a series of 40 processes, topped by a lamination process, claims the Chinese manufacturer.

The 5 inch handset is 7.6 mm slim and weighs a moderate 140 grams. Other hardware isn’t much to write home about. Oppo Neo 7 relies on 64 bit Snapdragon 410 with 1GB RAM and 16GB native storage, which should suffice for basic users.

The Dual SIM handset is running Android 5.1 Lollipop based Color OS 2.1 and the camera app includes several customization options and beautify modes. The front display can also brighten up to double as an LED flash for the front 5MP selfie camera.

Other features include IR remote, 4G LTE, 8MP rear camera with LED Flash and f/2.0 aperture lens, and a 2420mAh battery.

Commenting on the launch Mr. Mike Wang, CEO, OPPO Mobiles India said, “OPPO is known worldwide for pioneering technologies and designs and our newest addition in Neo family, Neo 7 is perfect interpretation of it. Neo series has generated positive response in the past and we are confident that with the classic mirror like design and innovative features, it will cater to target consumer who look for latest features at an attractive price.”

Like other Oppo phones, the Neo 7 is mainly targeting offline retail market, and thus doesn’t even try to match Price-Hardware equation offered by online exclusives.
