OPPO Find X8 Review: Unboxing
Unboxing the OPPO Find X8 was a pleasant experience. As soon as you open the box, the smartphone greets you with its premium look. Along with the phone, you get a SIM ejector tool, an 80W USB-A adapter, and a USB-A to -C charging cable. The package also includes warranty papers.
OPPO Find X8 Review: Design & Build
The OPPO Find X8 instantly reminds you of an iPhone, and it’s hard to miss the similarities. From its compact display to the flat edges, the resemblance is intentional. Inside the standard punch-hole cutout, OPPO has introduced the Fluid Cloud, a clever Dynamic Island-like feature that displays live alerts like music tracks, food delivery updates, timers, and more.
On the back, the circular camera module, surrounded by a glossy Cosmos Ring, gives the phone a premium aesthetic. The matte rear panel, paired with the textured camera area, creates a subtle contrast that enhances the overall look.
The camera module houses three lenses, and to maintain symmetry, the fourth slot serves as a placeholder for the microphone. The Hasselblad branding adds a professional touch to the design.
The unit I reviewed came in a sophisticated silver shade, which feels modern and appealing. The glass back has a smooth matte finish that doesn’t just look premium but also resists fingerprints.
The metal frame adds to the durability, with the volume and power buttons on the right, the alert slider on the left, and the SIM tray, Type-C port, and speaker at the bottom. The top edge is home to an IR blaster, secondary speaker, and microphone.
At 7.85 mm thickness and 193 grams, it isn’t the lightest phone, but it feels well-balanced and comfortable to hold. However, the flat edges might make it a bit slippery, so using the included case is a good idea.
Beyond looks, the OPPO Find X8 excels in durability as well. It comes with IP68 + IP69 water and dust resistance, Swiss SGS drop certification, and military-grade toughness. It’s a phone that offers style without compromising on strength.
OPPO Find X8 Review: Display
The OPPO Find X8 features a 6.59-inch OLED display with a 1.5K resolution (2760 × 1256 pixels) that ensures sharp visuals and excellent clarity. It supports a 120 Hz refresh rate, 4500 Nits peak brightness, 2160 Hz PWM dimming, 240 Hz touch sampling rate, and standards like Dolby Vision and HDR10+.
For eye comfort, it includes TÜV Rheinland Eye Comfort 4.0 certification, making it easier on the eyes during extended usage. While the display doesn’t offer a LTPO, you can choose between Auto, 60 Hz, and 120 Hz.
In Auto mode, the display adjusts refresh rates based on usage—for example, 120 Hz for scrolling, 90 Hz for apps like YouTube and Prime Video, and 60 Hz for watching videos or playing games like Call of Duty Mobile.
The Eye Comfort mode is particularly useful for reducing strain during long screen time. The Smart Toggle feature adjusts the color temperature based on ambient lighting, while Bedtime mode makes colors softer during evening hours. The PWM dimming ensures reduced flicker, adding to the overall eye-friendly experience.
In terms of color reproduction, the screen delivers natural tones with decent vibrancy. Streaming content on platforms like Prime Video and YouTube was enjoyable, with colors appearing balanced and lifelike. However, when compared to more premium flagships, the dynamic range might feel slightly limited.
For its price, the OPPO Find X8’s display strikes a good balance between performance and comfort, offering an enjoyable viewing experience that meets the expectations of most users.
OPPO Find X8 Review: Speakers and Haptics
The OPPO Find X8 comes with a dual-speaker setup, one at the top and another at the bottom. During testing, action scenes sounded immersive, with clear and well-balanced audio.
Listening to music was equally impressive—the sound was loud, with distinct instrument separation and good overall clarity. Indoors, the speakers deliver sufficient loudness and quality for an enjoyable experience.
The haptics are equally refined, providing precise feedback for activities like typing and basic interactions. The vibration response feels crisp and adds a layer of premium touch to everyday tasks like open recents page, adjusting volume, and more.
OPPO Find X8 Review: Software
The OPPO Find X8 runs on ColorOS 15, based on Android 15, with a noticeable effort to mimic iOS. The result is a polished, user-friendly interface packed with features and customization options.
One highlight is the Flux Theme, which lets you personalize lock screen effects, wallpapers, and colors. The Always-on Display also comes with advanced customization options.
ColorOS 15 introduces features like the Luminous Rendering Engine, AI-powered photo editing tools, over 800 new animations, and Touch to Share, making the experience smoother and more interactive.
A standout addition is Google’s Circle to Search, which allows users to search text or images simply by circling them. Other AI tools include:
Google Gemini: Set reminders or interact with Gen AI for queries.
AI Writer: Available in the sidebar, offering multiple tones (formal, artistic, casual) for writing.
AI Recording Summary: Generates summaries from call recordings or meetings, supporting multiple languages.
AI Speak: Reads out summaries or web content for hands-free convenience.
AI Studio Reimagine: The pre-installed AI Studio App transforms photos into various artistic styles, from Manga and Line Art to Picasso-inspired filters.
ColorOS 15 enhances the photo editing experience with features like AI Clarity Enhance, AI Unblur, and AI Reflection Remover, too.
While the UI is smooth, pre-installed apps like FinShell Pay, LinkedIn, and Snapchat feel unnecessary. Fortunately, they can be uninstalled. There’s also a security scan for some reason.
With 4 years of OS updates and 5 years of security patches, the OPPO Find X8 ensures software support until 2029, making it a future-proof option. The software offers a robust and intuitive experience, albeit with minor room for improvement.
OPPO Find X8 Review: Performance
The OPPO Find X8 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset, making it the first smartphone in India to feature this processor. Built on TSMC’s advanced 3nm process, this chipset delivers exceptional performance with a combination of one Cortex-X925 core clocked at 3.62 GHz, three Cortex-X4 cores at 3.3 GHz, and four Cortex-A720 cores at 2.4 GHz.
In everyday use, the device handles tasks seamlessly. Whether scrolling through Instagram, streaming Netflix, managing calls and emails, or switching between multiple apps like WhatsApp and others, the performance remains fluid.
Gaming Performance
Gaming on the Find X8 is smooth. I tested Call of Duty Mobile with graphics set to Very High and frame rate at Max. The gameplay was flawless, with no frame drops or lag. Additionally, there were no heating issues during the half-hour session, though warmer weather might introduce mild heating.
Benchmark Scores
On synthetic benchmarks, the device delivers strong results, too.
- Geekbench: Single-core – 2800 points, Multi-core – 8449 points.
- AnTuTu: 2,314,936 points.
- AnTuTu storage tests: Scored 254,252 points with impressive speeds—Read: 4095.3 MBps, Write: 3720.0 MBps, Random Read: 2125 MBps, Random Write: 1818 MBps.
- Wild Life Extreme Stress test: Best Loop Score: 6,097, Lowest Loop Score: 3,701, Stability: 60.7%
- CPU Throttling Test: 286,555 GIPS; 74% throttling to maximum performance.
Note: All the benchmarks above were done in the Balanced mode.
The Dimensity 9400 ensures a powerful and efficient performance, making the Find X8 a reliable device for daily tasks and gaming alike. The performance on the Find X8 is just as good as its elder sibling, the OPPO Find X8 Pro.
OPPO Find X8 Review: Cameras
OPPO Find X8 brings the Hasselblad Master camera system with three 50 MP sensors: the LYT700 wide, Samsung JN5 ultra-wide, and LYT600 telephoto lenses. Packed with features like 3x optical zoom, 6x in-sensor zoom, and HyperTone Image Engine, this phone promises a premium photography experience.
Main
The primary camera shines in capturing details with vibrant colors and excellent dynamic range. However, it’s tuned for visually appealing images rather than natural tones, subtly boosting colors and contrast to make scenes look more attractive. Photos of flowers or insects, for example, retain sharp details, making them perfect for social media.
Low-light photography is a mixed bag. While the camera performs well on high ISO settings, delivering bright and shareable images, zooming in reveals a loss of detail and visible artifacts. It works well for casual shots but falls short for enthusiasts seeking perfection.
Ultra-wide
The 50 MP ultra-wide camera provides decent results but doesn’t match the primary lens. Colors and dynamic range are slightly compromised, but it’s still good enough for landscapes and group photos.
3x Periscope
The telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom impresses with sharp, detailed images and consistent colors.
The 6x in-sensor zoom is a nice feature, producing surprisingly detailed shots even at maximum zoom. From license plates to textures, this lens handles it all with precision. You can zoom in all the way to 120x.
Selfies
For selfies, the 32 MP Sony IMX615 front camera is a delight. It delivers sharp, well-lit photos with solid background blur. By default, the skin tones are beautified, smoothing imperfections. Switch to “Natural mode” for a more authentic look.
Video
Video recording on the Find X8 is equally impressive, supporting 4K 60fps Dolby Vision HDR. Ultra Steady Mode ensures smooth footage, and AI photography features further elevate the video quality, making it ideal for creators.
The OPPO Find X8 offers a versatile and feature-packed camera system for its price. While low-light performance and ultra-wide shots leave room for improvement, its zoom capabilities, vibrant photos, and AI tools make it a strong contender indeed.
OPPO Find X8 Review: Battery Life and Charging
OPPO Find X8 has a substantial 5,630 mAh battery with 80W AirVOOC fast charging. The company claims a full charge in 48 minutes, but in our testing, it took 58 minutes to go from 0 to 100%.
During a day of heavy usage, which included benchmarks, over 1.5 hours of content streaming, photography, 30 minutes of gaming, calls, social media browsing, and music playback, the phone still had 26% battery left by night. The battery life is impressive, to say the least.

Review Verdict: Should You Buy the OPPO Find X8?
Smartprix Rating: 8.5/10
Design and Build: 8.5/10
Display: 8/10
Software: 8.5/10
Speakers & Haptics: 8/10
Performance: 9/10
Cameras: 8.5/10
Battery Life & Charging: 9/10
The OPPO Find X8 offers great value in its price range, with a stunning display, powerful performance, great cameras, great battery life, and a host of useful AI features. Its design and interface, reminiscent of the iPhone, deliver a premium experience that competes with the entry-level flagship devices.
While the camera may have some minor drawbacks, it’s still solid and one of the best that you can buy in this segment. The phone’s weight of 193 grams might feel a bit heavy, but the large battery and the premium in-hand feel compensate for it.
However, if you’re willing to explore other options, you might want to wait for the vivo X200. The iPhone 16 and Pixel 9 are also excellent choices if you’re looking for a refined experience, though they lack a telephoto lens. Overall, the OPPO Find X8 is a strong competitor in its segment, and you could definitely consider it as your next smartphone.
