Oppo has globally unveiled the 2018 version of its budget smartphone, Oppo A71. The major improvements include the switch to a better processor and the inclusion of Artificial Intelligence (AI) selfie beautification technology that works with your front camera to deliver better selfies.

Oppo A71 (2018) Features
Oppo hasn’t made many changes to its upgraded model of Oppo A71, compared to its predecessor. Most of the hardware specification remain same, save for an improved chipset and (oddly) lesser RAM. The 2018 A71 is powered by 1.8 GHz octa-core Snapdragon 450 processor, replacing the old and slightly slower MediaTek MT6750 SoC.
On the front, the Oppo A71 (2018) features 5.2-inch HD (720p) display with 16:9 screen aspect ratio. Further, the handset employs 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage, which can be expanded up to 256GB via a microSD card.

For photography, the Oppo A71 sports a 13MP sensor on the rear with f/2.2 aperture lens and LED flash. While up front, it has a 5MP selfie shooter with f/2.4 aperture lens and AI Beauty Recognition Technology.
The technology will work with your front camera simultaneously, using “global image database that serves as an experienced photographer, who knows your beauty and will offer the most suitable beautify effect for you”, states the official website.
Other features of the phone include Android Nougat based ColorOS 3.2, a 3000mAh non-removable battery, and connectivity options like 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, and USB OTG.
Oppo A71 (2018) Price and Availability
The Chinese firm, Oppo launched the Oppo A71 (2018) in Pakistan where it has been priced at PKR 19,899 (roughly to Rs. 11,000 INR). The phone is available in gold and black color options.
