Apple just launched HomeView, a new smart home device that combines a touchscreen display, speaker, AI-powered voice assistant and smart home controls. Announced at the company’s “Welcome Home” event, the homeview is designed to bring entertainment, communication and home automation together in one place.
Apple HomeView: Features and specifications
Apple HomeView features a 7-inch Liquid Retina display and is available in two versions: a tabletop model with a speaker base and a wall-mounted variant. The tabletop model comes in silver, starlight, rose pink and space grey, while the wall-mounted version is available in silver and space grey.
The device is powered by Apple’s A18 chip and features Siri AI, backed by Apple Intelligence. The updated assistant supports natural conversations, music discovery and on-screen awareness. When paired with a compatible Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad, Siri can also use personal context from apps such as Messages and Calendar to provide more relevant responses.

HomeView can recognise up to six people and offer each user a personalised home screen. It also supports FaceTime calls with Center Stage, Apple Music, Podcasts and Apple TV, alongside compatible third-party entertainment apps.
Smart home controls and privacy
HomeView allows users to control compatible smart home devices, including lights, thermostats, locks and blinds, using voice commands or the touchscreen. Its Home Camera interface can display up to nine live camera feeds simultaneously.
With compatible cameras and an eligible iCloud+ subscription, users can also receive alerts about people, pets, packages and vehicles. The device supports Matter-compatible accessories, helping it work with a wider range of smart home products.
Apple says privacy is a key focus, with personal information protected through on-device processing and Private Cloud Compute. Personal content is displayed based on user recognition and additional device security requirements.
