Oppo, the Chinese smartphone maker, has unveiled its new selfie-centric phone, Oppo A83 in India. Just like its Oppo F5, the A83 also comes with Artificial intelligence feature that enhances your selfies and group shots using AI algorithms.
“Our focus has always been on bringing best photography and Selfie experience to the Indian consumers. With the A83 we wish to bring an affordable selfie camera with advanced features such as the HD + Full-Screen Display and AI Beauty Technology,” said Will Yang, Brand Director, OPPO India.

Oppo A83 Features
The Oppo A83 comes with the popular edge-to-edge display and brandishes a ‘UFO Curve Design’ philosophy. It has a smoothly curved Aluminium back and a flat display up front. The display on the phone is 5.7-inch HD+ (720×1440 pixels) 18:9 LCD panel.
Under the hood, the Oppo A83 is powered by MediaTek MT6763T SoC clocked at 2.5GHz, which is paired with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. The storage is further expandable up to 256GB via microSD card.

In optics, the dual-sim Oppo A83 has a 13-megapixel camera sensor on the back with an LED flash and Ultra-HD mode that can create an image of 50-megapixel resolution. Whereas for selfies, the phone relies on an 8MP sensor with AI technology. The feature is touted to learn from your face contours and complexion over time to enhance selfie quality.
There is no fingerprint sensor on Oppo A83 but the company says that the phone can be unlocked using your face. The phone comes running on Android Nougat with company’s ColorOS 3.2 skin out of the box and packs a 3180mAh battery.
In terms of connectivity, the Oppo A83 has 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Oppo A83 Price and Availability
Oppo has priced its new mid-range Oppo A83 at Rs. 13,990 in India. The phone will be available for purchase on Amazon and Flipkart as well as other offline retail stores starting January 20 onwards.
