Oppo India has made a new addition to its portfolio with the launch of selfie-centric A71 (2018) in the country. The phone is priced at under Rs. 10K and it comes with Oppo’s AI beauty technology.

For the first time, we see a competent Qualcomm Chipset in an entry-grade Oppo phone.

Oppo A71 Features

It is not entirely a new phone. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer first launched Oppo A71 last September with a MediaTek chipset. The new upgraded version of the Oppo A71 is backed by a Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 450 Chipset which we have seen in the likes of Vivo V7 and Vivo V7+. The 1.8 GHz Snapdragon 450 SoC, is based on 14nm architecture and it is known for reliable performance.

In other innards, the Oppo A71 comes with 3GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage. It also features a dedicated microSD card slot for storage expansion. The phone comes with regular a 5.2-inch display with 16:9 aspect ratio and 1280×720 pixels resolution.

The Oppo A71 flaunts a 13-megapixel rear camera which as per the company comes with a noise reduction feature called Multi-Frame De-Noising Technology. Apart from this, it also boasts of an Ultra HD feature where it produces a 32-megapixel image. For selfie lovers, there is a 5-megapixel front camera with 1.4-micron pixels for better low light performance. The camera also comes with  AI face beautification feature where it creates artificial bokeh using algorithms.

In other Oppo A71 features, it includes a 3,000mAh, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, 4G with VoLTE and micro USB port. The phone comes running on ColorOS 3.2 which is based on Android 7.1 Nougat.

Oppo A71 Price and Availability

The Oppo A71 Snapdragon version is also priced Rs 9,990. In comparison, The Oppo A71 MediaTek version at the time of its launch was introduced for Rs 12,990. The point being, that the pricing is more aggressive this time. It’s still tough for us to recommend a 16GB storage phone to most users.

The Oppo A71 will be available on Amazon India, Flipkart and Snapdeal. The phone will be in Gold and Black hues.
