After months of speculation and confusion about a trimmed down version of OnePlus 2, the OnePlus X is finally official. Much anticipated OnePlus X is the second OnePlus device to debut in 2015. The device will go on sale in India, China, Indonesia and England. OnePlus has once again trusted Amazon India as its exclusive online sales partner, and will continue to sale its devices through its invite system.

The new OnePlus X will be available in two different variants, with OnePlus X Onyx premium version flaunting glass and metal and there is a different feel ceramic version too. To some extent its design resembles iPhone with its metal frame, similar placement of back camera, but in 2015 that seems like a waste of breadth. The alert slide in OnePlus 2 has made the cut for the X and that’s a good thing.  This is also the first OnePlus device with MicroSD card and FM radio.

The handset includes a 5 Inch Full HD display along with curved 2.5D glass shield.  Moto and Nexus like Ambient display is also present to quickly glance at notifications. It is the most compact device delivered by OnePlus in its 2 year long journey. The screen to body ration is impressive as it has minimum bezel around display.

It is powered by a popular Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor with 3GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage.  For photography purpose, it bears a fast 13MP primary snapper with flash and an 8MP front-facing camera for selfie and video chats. A 2525mAh battery will power the device, but there is no rapid charging. . It runs on Oxygen OS, which is based on Android 5.1 Lollipop and will get Marshmallow in the near future.

Similar back covers as OnePlus 2 will be available for OnePlus X as well. The Ceremic version will be a limited edition product (10,000 pieces only) and will cost 22,999 INR in India. For First month OnePlus X will be available via invites, from second month there will be one open -sale per week. The handset will be made in India (and there is no NFC either).
