TL; DR
  • Nothing posted a teaser with Feraligatr (#1060), sparking speculation of the Phone (3a) Community Edition or CMF Phone 2.
  • Feraligatr’s power theme hints at stronger performance and possible Snapdragon chip.
  • A launch is expected in late September or early October, following Nothing’s reveal cycle.

Nothing has once again stirred curiosity with a single teaser on X, showing a pixelated image of Feraligatr, the final evolution of Totodile and Pokédex number 1060. Known for its raw strength, Feraligatr might represent a major performance upgrade in Nothing’s lineup. The teaser arrived from the official @nothing account, not CMF, which makes it less likely to be a budget product and more in line with a flagship-adjacent release.

Pokémon as Product Signals

This is not the first time Pokémon has been used as code names for Nothing and CMF products. Earlier this year, CMF teased multiple devices with Pokémon references like Bulbasaur and Hoothoot, which turned into a bunch of CMF products.

Feraligatr’s appearance, however, is more direct and posted by the main Nothing account, raising expectations that it could be the Nothing Phone (3a) Community Edition or even a special variant of the Phone (3) or maybe something entirely new. Who knows?

Launch Timeline

Nothing’s teasers usually signal a reveal within weeks. A late September or early October launch window appears most likely. Given the singular nature of this teaser, the reveal may focus solely on only one device. What do you think it is? Let us know in the comments section below.
