TL; DR
  • CMF by Nothing teased four products using Pokémon codenames—Phone 2, Watch Pro 3, Buds Pro 3, and Neckband Pro 2.
  • The CMF Phone 2 might feature a triple-camera setup and Snapdragon 7s Gen 3, priced under ₹20,000.
  • A late April or early May launch is likely, but the Nothing Phone (3) won’t be part of this event.

CMF by Nothing has sparked excitement with a series of cryptic teasers on Twitter, hinting at four upcoming products through Pokémon imagery. The teasers feature Bulbasaur, Girafarig, Hoothoot, and Gligar—iconic characters from the Pokémon franchise.

Nothing is known for its playful marketing and often drops such hints a month before launches, which translates to a potential April 2025 debut for these devices. So, does this mean Nothing Phone 3 is coming soon? Let’s find out.

Pokémon as Product Symbols

CMF by Nothing Teases Four New Products

Nothing has a history of creative teasers, like using a ladybug to announce the transparent Nothing Ear 1 in 2021, and this Pokémon-themed campaign that was started with the Phone (3a) continues that trend. Each character should represent a new product.

Bulbasaur could be the CMF Phone 2, Girafarig might be the Watch Pro 3, Hoothoot could refer to the Buds Pro 3, and Gligar might be the Neckband Pro 2. If this sounds familiar, it’s because CMF followed the same strategy last year—launching multiple products at once.

But here’s the catch: since this is a CMF event, the Nothing Phone (3) isn’t happening just yet. If Nothing sticks to its usual playbook, the Phone (3) could arrive after this CMF launch settles.

CMF Phone 2: What Can We Expect

CMF Phone 2

The CMF Phone 2, possibly linked to Bulbasaur, is making waves after a leaked image showed a triple-camera setup—an upgrade from the dual cameras on the CMF Phone 1. This could mean an ultra-wide or macro lens.

The CMF Phone 1 was a really good budget smartphone, and the CMF Phone 2 seems to be sticking to that formula. Rumors suggest it could pack a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset, under ₹20,000.

What to Expect from the Lineup

CMF Products

The Watch Pro 3, Buds Pro 3, and Neckband Pro 2—possibly linked to Girafarig, Hoothoot, and Gligar—seem set for iterative upgrades. Last year’s Watch Pro 2 had a 1.32-inch AMOLED display, the Buds Pro 2 featured 50 dB ANC, and the Neckband Pro 2 could refine its predecessor’s 50 dB hybrid ANC, which was a first in its category.

Launch Date

CMF Phone 1

If Nothing sticks to its usual timeline of posting cryptic teasers and launches, the CMF launch could happen in late April or early May. Will the CMF Phone 2 fix the shortcomings of the Phone 1? Will the Buds and Neckband push ANC even further? Let’s see what Nothing has up its sleeve.
