Nothing Teases a new Smartphone with Transparent Back Design: Launch inches closer

Nothing has officially begun to tease the launch of its new smartphones for 2025. Recently, the company released a teaser featuring Arcanine from Pokémon, which many believe suggests the forthcoming Nothing Phone 3a. Additionally, it appears that the company tweeted for the first time about this new device. This unconventional teaser has also been interpreted as a clue regarding an “upcoming landmark smartphone,” as referenced in a leaked email from Carl Pei. Today, Nothing has once again shared a cryptic post that includes a design sketch.

New Nothing Phone Teased

A few hours ago, the brand released a new teaser image on its official X account. This image seems to depict a design sketch for the forthcoming Nothing smartphone. It highlights a transparent back panel that reveals screws and various internal components of the device. However, the sketch does not provide a full view of the rear side, leaving us uncertain about the continuation of the signature Glyph lights. Additionally, it remains ambiguous which specific device the brand is alluding to with this teaser.

Nothing Phones on the BIS Website

Nothing is anticipated to unveil three new devices in 2025: the Nothing Phone 3, Nothing Phone 3a, and Nothing Phone 3a Plus. Recently, two of these models were spotted receiving certification on the BIS website, identified by the model numbers A059 and A059P. These are thought to correspond to the Nothing Phone 3a and Nothing Phone 3a Plus, as speculation suggests that Carl Pei’s brand will prioritize the launch of these two devices. The internal codenames for these models are ‘asteroids’ and ‘asteroids Plus.’

Additionally, a new CMF-branded phone has been identified in the IMEI database with the model number Nothing A001, which is expected to be the successor to the CMF Phone 1, known as CMF Phone 2.

Furthermore, a potential new Nothing smartphone has been detected on the FCC database with model number 24111, which could be the Nothing Phone 3. A teaser released today may pertain to any of these upcoming Nothing devices, although this remains unconfirmed at this time.

Co-founder of Nothing, Akis Evangelidis has confirmed that the product will launch soon but the exact date hasn’t been announced yet.

Nothing Phone 3: Expected specs

The teaser showcasing Pokemon Arcanine could very well be associated with the upcoming Nothing Phone 3, as the company has a history of using Pokemon names as internal codenames for its devices. Anticipated specifications for the Nothing Phone 3 include a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and a 6.5-inch display. Additionally, new AI capabilities are expected to be integrated into this model.
