Slowly but steadily! Many key smartphone manufacturers have started rolling out a stable version of Android Oreo across devices. Nokia has already begun the process on its Nokia 8, OnePlus is doing the same on its 3 and 3T models, and the reports are that very soon, Samsung will update its devices with latest Oreo flavored Experience UI.

The South Korean firm is reportedly testing Android Oreo update on some of Galaxy S8 and S8+ devices. And, a list of Samsung Android devices that will get the Oreo treat has been leaked online on the Chinese social networking site, Weibo. In total Samsung will update 36 handsets from its portfolio.

According to the list, the Oreo update will go to devices dated back to 2016 – the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge are the ones. Interestingly, the phones that are yet to be launched by Samsung were also mentioned on the list. The Galaxy A series, the 2018-edition of Galaxy A5, Galaxy A7, and Galaxy A3 will receive the Android Oreo update after the launch.

All Samsung’s premium devices along with the existing mid-range models like 2017 Galaxy A-series model – A5, A7 and A3, and Galaxy J series – J7 (2016), J7 Pro, J5 Pro among others will get the Oreo-treat. Other devices include Galaxy On Series, Galaxy C series, and Galaxy Tab series.

Since Samsung hasn’t backed the listing, one must take the information with the proverbial pinch of salt. The final draft may see some addition/deduction of devices that will receive the stable version of Android Oreo.
