LG G6 was a unique, mature attempt that strived to deliver flagship experience with less flashy hardware at a more lucrative price, instead of tackling the likes of Samsung Galaxy S8/ S8+ head on.

Today the South Korean manufacturer also added the LG G6 Plus, which is the same LG G6 (Details) but with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage (compared to 4GB and 64GB on the original).

4GB RAM on the original should be good enough for most buyers, but yes, 128GB storage should be a welcome change for many. However, use of Snapdragon 835 chipset instead of last year’s Snapdragon 821 in the Plus variant would have added more bling and could have helped convince more buyers to shell out the high-end price.

There are few other changes too. The LG G6 Plus will retail in a couple more colors – Optical Marine Blue and Optical Terra Gold. And LG G6 features like Hi-Fi DAC and Wireless charging which were earlier restricted to select markets are now expected to be available on all LG G6 Plus variants.

On the software side of the equation, LG will be adding a few more features like Face Print and Low power consumption in Always-On mode, but these will roll out to the original LG G6 as well.

To start with, the new LG G6 Plus will retail in South Korea but LG will be pushing it to other markets as well. If rumors are to be believed, the LG G6+ is expected to be around $100 costlier than LG G6.
