LG G6 is a good looking, compact, powerful yet competitively priced smartphone compared to other 2017 flagships. And the recently launched LG G6 Plus is a slightly higher priced variant that elevates RAM and Storage capacities and brings them at par with contemporary flagships. The rest remains almost same.
The LG G6 Plus includes an 18:9 HDR 10 and Dolby Vision compatible 5.7-inch QHD display fitted in a, say, 5.3-inch display phone body. It's very convenient to handle and feels extremely premium.
It's powered by Snapdragon 821 chipset but LG has worked closely with Qualcomm to add some of the Snapdragon 835 smarts to it. The chipset is paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage (in comparison, the base variant has 4GB RAM and 64GB storage) and there is provision for MicroSD expansion as well.
The handset runs the latest Android Nougat based software and has a dual camera setup on the rear, The LG G6 Plus camera performance is flagship grade. The extra sensor has a fish eye lens and is used to shoot wide angle shots. The handset has a 3300mAh battery which can last for one day of moderate usage.
Other notable features include a HiFi DAC for audio, Fingerprint sensor, Bluetooth 4.2 LE, Dual band WiFi, 4G VOLTE and GPS.
The LG G6 Plus is a notch below other 2017 flagships in terms of hardware, but it's undercutting the competition in terms of price which in itself matters a lot in a price sensitive market like India.
The LG G6 India price and availability hasn't been disclosed yet. The handset has been launched in South Korea for now, and Global rollout will begin in July.
