iQOO has set the debut date of the Z5 for September 23, and shortly after it, the phone is expected to make its way to India. And Smartprix has learned that the iQOO Z5 launch will happen at the upcoming Amazon Great Indian Sale. Now according to a recent teaser, the new iQOO phone will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 778G SoC. So, you could get the same chip inside iQOO Z5 in India. Besides the new processor, the handset is also likely to bring 5G connectivity, high-refresh curved displays, and fast charging capability.
According to reports, Vivo’s sub-brand is also working on two new smartphones in addition to the iQOO Z5. Although, all of them are expected to wield the aforementioned features, let’s specifically focus on the Z5 for now:
iQOO Z5 Features: What to expect?
The iQOO Z5 is rumored to have a 120Hz display. According to the Play Console listing, this would be a full-HD+ (1,080×2,400 pixels) panel with Android 11 software underneath.

As teased, the processor would be Snapdragon 778G coupled with at least 8GB of RAM. Speaking of the latter, the Z5 Pro variant with model number V2148A is expected to have UFS 3.1 storage and LPDDR5 RAM. Moreover, it is also said to house the Snapdragon 778G SoC at the core.
The iQOO Z5 Pro is also expected to have dual stereo speakers, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and a 5,000mAh battery with 44W fast charging. A 64-megapixel primary sensor will be a part of the triple rear cameras on the iQOO Z5 Pro.
iQOO is also rumored to be working on the iQOO Z5x, which will feature a 90Hz AMOLED display, MediaTek Dimensity 900, and triple rear cameras. We have also heard the device to be a rebranded Vivo S10e.
iQOO Z5 Price and Availability
On Wednesday, iQOO posted a teaser image on Weibo to announce the launch date for the iQOO Z5. The company will host the launch at 2:30 pm CST Asia (12 pm IST) in China on September 23.
However, the price and availability are not yet known for the Indian market. There have been some rumors about it being available exclusively on Amazon India. But until confirmed, let’s take that and other details mentioned hitherto with a pinch of salt.
