iQOO Z5 5G set to launch on Sept 27 in India with Snapdragon 778G SoC

iQOO Z5 5G is finally scheduled to launch in India on September 27 at 12 noon. However, the phone will first go official on September 23 in China. The company has started to drop a chunk of specs prior to the final release. 

iQOO has announced the launch date taking to Twitter and later the Vivo-owned brand has also taken a live microsite on Amazon. The phone will be a successor to the previously launched iQOO Z3 5G (review). With a few confirmed features, here’s what to expect from the upcoming iQOO Z5 5G.

iQOO Z5 5G Specs 

The iQOO Z5 is confirmed to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G 5G chipset which we had reported earlier. The phone will be paired with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage system. The company claims to provide 40% improved CPU and GPU performance when compared to the iQOO Z3. The phone could get up to 8GB RAM and up to 256GB built-in memory.

According to a set of different Weibo posts from the company, iQOO Z5 is confirmed to sport a 64MP triple rear camera setup. Upfront, the phone will get a display with a refresh rate of 120Hz and is expected to be upgraded to an AMOLED panel compared to FHD+ in iQOO Z3.

The to-be-announced phone is said to boast a 5000mAh battery with support of 55W fast charge support. The renders that appeared on Weibo suggest the iQOO Z5 to ship with three colour shades of Black, White, and Blue-Purple gradient. The device could run iQOO UI custom skin based on Android 11.

iQOO Z5 5G Price and Availability

Following the footsteps of its predecessor, iQOO Z5 could be priced under 25,000 bucks to become a midrange device. The phone will retail on Amazon post the launch on September 27. To keep yourself updated, stay tuned.
