As we inch closer to iPhone 15 series launch, reports have started populating regarding various aspects of the series. It includes speculations on a supposed $100 hike, a bezel-less display, and beyond. One of the latest rumors to hit the market is regarding the storage capacities.

According to various sources including Korean blogger yeux1122, iPhone 15 Pro duo (Pro and Pro Max) are likely to get a hike in their base variants. Instead of puny 128GB storage, Apple might roll out the duo with 256GB as its base variant. If that’s not all, we can expect a 2TB storage config arriving with the duo too.

iPhone 15 Pro

As of now, the iPhone 14 Pro duo offers four trims – 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB while the non-pro models only have the initial three trims. If the latest piece of information is true, we could expect the storage for both iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max to be as such – 256GB, 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB. Do note that we aren’t aware of iPhone 15 and 15 Plus share the same storage configurations.

There are also rumors around price hikes taking the base iPhone 15 Pro’s price tag to $1,099 (iPhone 14 Pro was $1,000) for the 128GB storage. Undoubtedly, it is a significant hike in the pricing and may affect Apple’s sales once the series launches this September. This is assuming that the base variant is 128GB, however, if the aforementioned price tag is for the speculated 256GB trim, the pricing is justified since its predecessor carried the same price tag for 256GB. It means there’s preferably no price difference but the question is, will you upgrade?

Talking about iPhone 15 series release date, it is expected to unfold on September 12th or 13th as per Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. The sales will commence on September 22nd although none of the dates have been confirmed by Apple yet. Given Gurman’s credibility in terms of Apple products, we would simply hold those dates closer to our hearts as the potential ones when we will get to see the new iPhones.
