Google has recently introduced the latest version of Android, which is the Android 14 operating system. The latest OS by Google transitioned from the developer beta stage to the public beta stage pretty recently for pixel users. However, most of the reviews regarding the same suggested that the OS is full of bugs. Google rolled out a fixed version after a couple of weeks, but the new version is creating a ruckus related to the Google Messages app beta. The application is actively crashing whenever you try to open it.

For your information, the bugs found in the Android 14 operating system affected the phone to a great extent, as basic features like fingerprint unlock and cellular connectivity also stopped working efficiently. Google tried to fix this issue and make things work in a smoother way. Still, if you are someone who uses the Messages application on a day-to-day basis, then according to us, you should switch off the auto updates of the application from the Google Play Store.

A report by 9to5Google cited that the latest Messages application is not working on the Android 14 operating system. The application crashes on a repetitive basis when the user has a light theme on their smartphone. Nonetheless, a few users mentioned that the app was running when the dark theme was enabled. The message contents are not that visible, with black text on a dark background.

In addition to that, tapping on any conversation also crashes the application. If you are also facing all these problems, then you can try to come out of it. First things first, you should opt out of the beta program of the Messages application on the Google Play Store. Moving forward, you can get the older version of Messages from APKMirror or any other third-party application store. One thing which you should keep in mind is to stop the auto-update of the Messages app.
