TL; DR
  • CAD renders of the Galaxy Z Fold8, shared by OnLeaks in collaboration with Android Headlines, show a familiar design with slightly thicker dimensions.
  • Upgrades include a 5,000 mAh battery, 45W charging, and a 50 MP ultra-wide camera, while most hardware remains unchanged.
  • The device is expected to launch in summer 2026, with pricing around $1,999 globally and roughly ₹2,00,000 in India.

CAD-based renders of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 have surfaced, shared by OnLeaks and Android Headlines, giving an early look at the upcoming foldable. The design remains largely unchanged, continuing with flat sides, sharp corners, and a noticeable camera bump.

The dimensions are listed as approximately 158.4 x 143.2 x 4.5 mm when unfolded and 158.4 x 72.8 x 9 mm when folded. This makes the device slightly thicker than the previous generation, though these figures are based on CAD data and may vary in the final product.

Samsung is expected to retain the same display sizes, including a 6.5-inch outer display and an 8-inch inner display. The device is also said to skip an under-display camera, similar to the Fold7.

Slight Increase in Thickness

The small increase in thickness may be linked to the possible return of S Pen support. Samsung had previously removed S Pen functionality to keep the Fold7 thinner, since adding the digitizer layer increases the overall thickness.

Battery and Charging Changes

The Galaxy Z Fold8 is expected to feature a 5,000 mAh battery, marking the first increase in capacity in recent Fold models. Charging is also expected to improve, with 45W wired charging support. Wireless charging is likely to remain around 25W.

Camera Setup

Z Fold8

The primary change in the camera system is the ultra-wide sensor, which is expected to move to a 50 MP unit, from the current 12 MP. Other cameras are expected to remain the same, including a 200 MP main camera and a 10 MP 3X telephoto. This keeps most of the camera hardware unchanged apart from the ultra-wide upgrade.

Core Specifications

The device is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy. It may be available with 12 GB or 16 GB RAM, and storage options of 256 GB, 512 GB, and 1 TB.

Launch Timeline and Pricing

The Galaxy Z Fold8 is expected to launch in July 2026, following Samsung’s usual Unpacked timeline, though scheduling could shift slightly. Pricing is expected to remain around $1,999, similar to the previous generation. In India, the price is expected to be around ₹2,00,000.
