Xiaomi appears to be reshuffling its flagship smartphone strategy for India, with the company is now expected to bring only the Xiaomi 18 Pro to the country later this year.
The information comes courtesy of industry insider Yogesh Brar, who tells us that Xiaomi has changed its earlier launch plans for the Indian market due to the current dwindling market conditions.

Xiaomi 18 Pro Max India launch reportedly dropped
According to the tip, Xiaomi was previously considering launching both the Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max in India. Those plans have now changed, and only the Xiaomi 18 Pro is expected to make its way to the country this year.
The regular Xiaomi 18 and the top-end Xiaomi 18 Pro Max also appear to have been dropped from the India roadmap.
Global markets, however, are still expected to receive both the Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max. The global launch is planned for later this year, while the Xiaomi 18 Pro could arrive in India by December.
The move suggests Xiaomi is looking to streamline its premium smartphone portfolio in India instead of bringing every model from the Xiaomi 18 series.
Xiaomi 18T to follow next year
Xiaomi’s next major flagship launch after the Xiaomi 18 Pro will be the Xiaomi 18T. According to Brar, the smartphone is currently expected to launch in India sometime between March and April next year. The launch will coinside with the long rumoured iPhone 18 launch.
If these plans hold, Xiaomi’s premium lineup in India could effectively revolve around just two models — the Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18T.

Xiaomi 18 Pro specifications
The Xiaomi 18 Pro is shaping up to be a compact but heavily-specced flagship. It features a 6.4-inch flat LTPO OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, alongside a 2.66-inch secondary OLED screen on the back.
Powering the device is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset, paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. Cameras are another major highlight, with a Leica-branded setup comprising a 200MP primary camera, 200MP periscope telephoto camera and 50MP ultrawide sensor. A 50MP camera handles selfies.
The phone packs a 6,000mAh battery with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. Other features include Wi-Fi 7, UWB, USB 3.2 Gen 1, an independent AI button, stereo speakers and IP66, IP68 and IP69 protection.
The Xiaomi 18 Pro runs Android 17-based Surge OS 4 with Xiaomi’s Super AI 2.0 features.
