Nothing Phone (2a) will launch in India on March 5, 2024. Since the phone marks the brand’s entry into a new segment, we’ve followed all the threads and rumors about it. Today, we’ve collaborated with known tipster @OnLeaks to present before our readers their first look at high-quality 5K renders of the Nothing Phone (2a), which reveal the phone in all its glory.
Nothing Phone (2a) 5K CAD Renders
The first 5K CAD-based renders of Phone (2a) showcase the smartphone in its Dark Gray color. Nothing has gone for a slightly different design approach with this model. Unlike Phone (1) and Phone (2), the dual-camera setup on the rear panel is aligned horizontally inside a centrally placed circular island.
At the island’s center are two sensors inside a pill-shaped cutout. Surrounding the cutout is a concentric texture that runs to the island’s edge. The flash module is positioned toward the top right of the camera modules. Surrounding the camera island are Nothing’s iconic Glyph Lights. In total, the phone carries three light strips: two toward the left and one vertical strip to the right.
The semi-transparent design also reveals a bunch of screws and a curvy element that runs from the camera island to the bottom of the smartphone. The phone also carries Nothing’s branding at the bottom left corner.
The phone carries minimal bezels on the front, a centrally-located punch-hole camera, and a metallic frame/buttons. Per the 5K renders, the Phone (2a) is one of the most unique and premium-looking smartphones in its segment, with the bold look Nothing is known for.
Nothing Phone (2a) Leaked Specifications
Corroborating our previous report from December 2023, the Nothing Phone (2a) will indeed come with a 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen that supports a 120Hz refresh rate. Regarding optics, the smartphone will feature two sensors from Samsung: the primary ISOCELL S5KG9 50MP (with OIS) and the secondary ISOCELL JN1 50MP for clicking ultrawide images. On the front, users will get a 32MP selfie camera.
Earlier today, Nothing’s CEO Carl Pei said that Phone (2a) won’t feature that Dimensity 7200 SoC. We can now confirm that the handset will be the first to ship with the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro SoC. This aligns with the chatter around the smartphone featuring a custom-made MediaTek chipset, as no other smartphone features the Dimensity 7200 Pro SoC.
Besides the new processor, Phone (2a) will feature “8/12GB RAM + 128/256GB storage.” Powering the smartphone will be a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 45W wired charging. Out of the box, the smartphone will run on the NOthing OS 2.5.2 based on Android 14. Its dimensions are around 161.7 x 76.3 x 8.55mm. The device should weigh 190 grams.
We can also confirm that the phone will feature NFC, an AI Wallpaper generation feature, and carry an IP54 water and dust resistance rating.
Nothing Phone (2a) Indian Price
The starting price of Phone (2a) will be under Rs. 25,000. Per our sources, the base variant could be available for around Rs. 23,999 in India. We’re yet to determine whether this will include card offers.
