Carl Pei’s Nothing knows how to make noise before the launch of their products. With more than two weeks to go for the official launch of Nothing Phone (1) company puts out its narrative every other by teasing and showcasing its much anticipated first phone. After teasing Nothing Phone 1 LED light photos last week, now the UK-headquartered company asked renowned youtube – Marques Brownlee aka MKBHD to share the exclusive First look of Nothing phone (1) revealing its complete design from all angles. From the same video, we also got to know about Glyph Interface.

What is the Glyph Interface in Nothing phone (1)?

From the Nothing Phone (1) hands-on videos what really stood out was Nothing’s Glyph Interface. It’s a Nothing exclusive feature where they placed multiple lighting strips and clubbed its actions as Glyph Interface.

Nothing Phone (1) Glyph Interface

In the Marques Brownlee video, the phone is shown off from the back as well as the front. The Phone (1) has come with over 900 customizable LEDs on the rear panel. These 900 less are basically spread in 5 lighting strips that will glow either together or in combinations to give users more information about things like charging, notifications, etc. There will be a glyph interface settings menu that will allow you to control how you want to light those LEDs up.

What function do Glyph Interface offer?

The menu will allow you to set up lights to show charging percentage, wireless reverse charging, and more. The menu will also enable users to switch to the Flip to Glyph feature which can trigger the Glyph interface to work only when the phone is flipped upside down.

Although the whole things appear as one connected strip and can light up as one, there are interruptions in the middle. There is also a red LED dot that would light up when the phone is recording a video. The LED lights will tell you when you get a new Notification. The bottom strip will serve as a charging progress indicator. There are 10 notification sounds having their own distinct light signatures.

The whole thing might serve as a fill light when you are shooting a photo under low and tricky lighting. MKBHD claims that these LEDs are beautiful though he isn’t sure if the intensity of these lights can be controlled manually or not. The Glyph interface can also be scheduled to kick into action or turn off during a particular time in the day.

More about the features of Glyph Interface will be known when the phone actually launched on July 12.
