Update (February 9, 2024): Per the latest information from @OnLeaks, the press render isn’t accurate. It turns out the source provided the tipster with a manipulated render of a Nothing phone that hasn’t been released. Check out more details here.
In December 2023, Smartprix brought to readers an exclusive report about the key specifications of the Nothing Phone (2a). Now, we’ve partnered with known leakster @OnLeaks to share the first look at the Phone (2a) back panel. The London-based tech startup Nothing has been known for its unique smartphone designs, particularly the semi-transparent back panels on the Phone (1) (review) and Phone (2) (review).
Nothing Phone (2a) Official Render
The Nothing Phone (2a) will feature a new, revamped back panel, unlike anything we’ve seen on the phones the company has released. At the top left are two camera lenses protruding from the panel. Then there’s a big circular element at the top. While the Nothing Phone (2) had large circular lines in the center above the wireless charging hardware, the Phone (2a) doesn’t have that.
Glyph Interface Remains To Be A Major Missing
The company’s branding and the CE certification details are given toward the left and the right edge, respectively. However, something that’s missing from the render is Nothing’s iconic Glyph Interface. Even though the initial renders and leaked images showcased the presence of LED lights on the back panel, they might be based on pre-production sample units. Nonetheless, it looks like the company decided to cut some corners from its upcoming mid-range offering.
Even though the Phone (2a)’s rear panel resembles the company’s master design language, the smartphone will be a bit different from what everyone expected. This could be an effort to differentiate the flagship number series from the more affordable ‘a’ series that the company is about to launch. In December 2023, we leaked the exclusive wallpapers of the Nothing Phone (2a).
