After a successful stint in China, Coolpad launched Cool Play6, the successor of Cool1 dual, in India. The mid-range smartphone sports a dual-rear facing camera, and it will be available on sale across the nation from September 4 exclusively at Amazon India.
The company has priced the smartphone just under Rs. 15k, and it is expected that the Cool Play 6 will compete directly with the likes of Moto G5 Plus, Redmi Note 4 and Lenovo K8 Note.

At the launch event, the company’s India head quoted, “The Year 2017 has been a game changer for Coolpad in India and we continue to put our resources in the country with a plan to achieve 50% growth to extend our market share to 6% of the total market in India. With this launch, we not only plan to lead the online space but also to make a bigger impact on the offline market in India.”

Under the hood, the Cool Play 6 employs a 1.4GHz octa-core Snapdragon 653 processor, well-integrated with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage via micro-SD card.
The smartphone will carry a 5.5-inch Full HD display and runs on the latest Android software, Nougat 7.1.1, with a promised update to Android O by the end of this year. Unlike the Cool 1, the Coolpad Cool Play 6 will not run LeEco’s EUI software. In stead, Coolpad has refined its own Cool UI into something simpler and lighter and has named it Journey UI.
On the camera front, the Coolpad’s Coolplay 6 features two 13MP sensors at the back, with f/2.0 aperture and dual-LED flash, along with HDR and 4K video support. For selfies, it has an 8MP sensor with f/2.2 aperture.
Other features include 4G VoLTE, USB Type-C, hybrid dual SIM slot and 4000mAh battery.
Coolpad Cool Play 6 Dual Rear Camera: How they work
Coolpad Cool Play 6 is the only phone under 15,000 INR that has dual cameras arranged in monochrome + Color sensor configuration. That is to say, one 13MP sensor on the rear will capture colors, and the other 13MP sensor will gather more light and details that will be used to enhance images clicked from the first color sensor.
