Xiaomi has launched its freshly conceptualized smartphone POCO F1, with prime focus on the phone’s affordability. The mobile is first in its series and packs some very good features for a mid-range phone.
POCO F1 by Xiaomi bears a massive 5.99-inch full-HD+ (1080×2280 pixels) display having 19:9 aspect ratio, and 2.5D Gorilla Glass 3 protection. An Octa-core Snapdragon 845 SoC chipset found on high end phones features as the phone’s primary hardware, with assistance from Mali G-71 GPU for the graphics. The memory unit supporting its powerful processor comprises of 8GB RAM and 256GB internal memory, expandable via microSD up to 400GB.
As for the phone’s optics , a dual rear camera setup - 12MP with f/1.8 aperture and dual pixel PDAF + 5MP auxiliary sensor with depth sensor, Dual-LED dual-tone flashlight, along with single tone LED flashlight is present, while an 20MP sensor is present with AI integration for shooting selfies.
Android 8.0 Oreo user interface with MIUI 9.5 customization are POCO F1’s software components, while a 4000mAh non-removable Li-On battery unit provides fuel to the smartphone. The smartphone is expected to receive MIUI 10 and Android Pie update by 2018 end.
A dedicated fingerprint sensor is present on the rear panel of the phone, right below its dual camera setup, and a two tone LED flashlight is placed on the right side of the setup. A front camera of is mounted on its notch beside an IR emitter and receiver for implementing face unlock.
As for the connectivity features, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, USB Type-C port are present within POCO F1, while sensors on this phone include an Infrared face recognition, Accelerometer, ambient light sensor, digital compass, gyroscope, proximity sensor, fingerprint, barometer.
