Xiaomi Teases the Imminent Launch of Redmi Note 7 in India

Xiaomi started off this year with the much-hyped Redmi Note 7 in its native land. Ever since then, Indian Mi fans have been waiting for the Note 7’s upcoming Indian launch and now we have confirmation that they won’t have to wait much longer.

Redmi India tweeted an upside-down text and a photo of Manu Jain, Vice President, Xiaomi and Managing Director along with CEO Lei Jun holding the Note 7.

The text quotes the lyrics of an upcoming Bollywood movie song, “Apna Time Aayega” which translates to My Time Will Come. So, the teaser declares that the Note 7’s time is coming. The phone’s  48MP rear camera, which is the major highlight is also mentioned. The lines go further to proclaim that upon its launch, Note 7’s going to turn heads and rule the industry.

It’s understandable that the Note 7 announcement comes right after Flipkart and Amazon sales where Xiaomi pushed out Redmi Note 6 stock at discounted prices.

At first glance, the tweet might seem cheeky but Note 7 has the potential to strongly hold the ground, all thanks to its cleverly assembled package. Under the hood, the phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset and is fueled by a colossal 4000mAh battery.

The phone doesn’t fail to impress in the aesthetics department too. It sports a glass body with a trendy gradient hue and a water-drop notch, all of which looks stunning to the eyes. Finally, Xiaomi decided to include the USB Type-C as well.

Coming back to the 48MP rear camera, we must say its not just a marketing phrase. The tech giant has genuinely included the whopping megapixel count with a catch. It uses Pixel binning technology. Xiaomi combines data from 4 neighboring pixels to increase the effective pixel size to and captures a detailed 12MP shot. So, the output ought to be optimal. Alongside the primary camera, you would find a 5MP depth sensor for bokeh effect in portrait shots. Last but not least, the front shooter flaunts a 13MP sensor for selfies.

Redmi Note 7 would be the cheapest Snapdragon 660 chipset that starts at just 999 yuan (roughly Rs. 10,000) for 3GB RAM and 32GB storage variant. The higher 4GB RAM/64GB storage option costs 1299 yuan (roughly Rs. 12,500). Finally, you could also grab the top model with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage costing 1,399 yuan (or roughly Rs. 14,500).
