Xiaomi celebrated its 10-year anniversary in a big way. A journey that began with MIUI custom ROM for Android has led to the present where Xiaomi is a key ecosystem player. As such, it exhibited its technological might in the form of a see-through TV. The newly unveiled Mi TV LUX OLED Transparent TV has to be the biggest reveal of the event.

That said, it also announced two new handsets named the Mi 10 Ultra and Redmi K30 Ultra.

So, there’s a fair bit to unfurl here. Let’s begin with the —

Mi TV LUX OLED Transparent Edition

The all-new Mi TV LUX sports a 55-inch transparent OLED (TOLED) panel. You can read about the tech behind see-through wizardry here. Rest, the display has got FHD resolution, 120Hz refresh rate (with a 120Hz MEMC chip that estimates and compensates for the dips in frames), and supports 93% of DCI-P3 color profile.

Xiaomi has cleverly stowed all the other hardware components within the circular base, rather than behind the display. So, when it’s off, it would look like a “mere glass display”. Now, how the company manages to separate the stuff on the background from the foreground is something to be seen.

For what it’s worth, Xiaomi bets big on the on-device AI Master Engine that it says will optimize the visuals automatically based on over 20 presets. Then there is the 1ms low latency lure for gamers.

Inside, the TV is propelled by a custom MediaTek 9650 chipset with a quad-core A73 CPU, coupled with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. Coming to the audio part, you get two 8W Dolby-Atmos aided speakers, also placed in that round buttress. Needless to say, the software is MIUI skinned with its slew of features like the Always-on display, for instance.

Mi 10 Ultra

This new entrant shares a lot of specs with its Mi 10 brethren. But the upgrades are significant such as the UFS 3.1 storage (only 128GB model), 120x digital zoom, 120W superfast wired charging, 50W fast wireless charging, and 10W reverse wireless charging.

Not just that, even the cameras see a notable change. Instead of the 108MP primary sensor on the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro, here you have a 48MP shooter. This is accompanied by another 48MP periscope sensor (that offers 5x optical zoom and 120x digital zoom), a 20MP 128° ultrawide snapper cum macro clicker, and finally a 12MP depth sensor with 2x optical zoomability. Thanks to this setup, the phone has scored the top spot in DXOMark rankings.

You can have a look at the rest of its specs in the full-fledged specs table by the bottom.

Redmi K30 Ultra

The Redmi K30 series also get a new Ultra member, which brings a higher 120Hz refresh rate and brighter (1200 nits advertised) display, Dimensity 1000+ 5G chipset, MIUI 12 software, 4500mAh battery with 33W fast charging, amongst other things.

Again the complete spec sheet is below.
