Xiaomi has introduced several competitive phones this year, many of which are more than iterative upgrades. Latest teasers and rumors hint at the imminent arrival of yet another celebrated Mi phone successor. Yes, we are talking about the Mi A3 which could continue the Stock Android flavor with an updated design and imaging prowess. Mr. Manu Jain who is the Mi India MD recently teased a triple camera phone and the tech community is buzzing with Mi A3 anticipation.

Xiaomi Mi A3: What to Expect?

Just after the Redmi Y3 and Redmi 7 Indian debut, we received this teaser from Mr. Manu pointing at a new Xiaomi phone with the latest Snapdragon 700 series to arrive very soon. Speaking of the latest, Snapdragon 730 and 730G were released by Qualcomm recently.

So, we could safely presume that the Mi A3 could join either the 730 or 730G chipset club. Moving further, its a no-brainer that the Mi A3 series could be running on the vanilla Android 9.0 Pie under the Android One programme.

Like we just mentioned in the previous line, this time around, we could expect Mi A3 series with multiple variants, vis. a vis. Mi A3  and Mi A3 Lite. XDA Developers’ Editor-in-Chief, Mishaal Rahman deciphered an available source code information to get their codenames. As per his tweet, three phones powered by SD700 series are  “bamboo_sprout”, “cosmos_sprout” and ‘Pyxis’. The first two belongs to Mi A3 and Mi A3 Lite respectively while the third one could be Mi 9X.

Weeks later, a new teaser from the official Mi forum shows the following image:

Calling for a Challenge! WIN MEDAL!

Evidently, we see a single, a dual, and a triple camera panel orbiting a planet. Though we can’t be sure about our interpretation, they could be touting a camera triplet in the upcoming phone. The precursor Mi A2 (review) had a dual camera setup and ergo this time may be a wide-angle sensor adds to the pack.

Going with the grain and its 2019 releases, the Mi A3 phones could flaunt a gradient glass body. We would appreciate if Xiaomi continues its 48MP rear and 32MP front camera implementation here as well, at least in the standard variant.

As and when more details surface, we would update them here as a one-stop for all Mi A3 related information.
