We finally have a date for (alleged) Redmi Note 5 India launch. Xiaomi will introduce the next Note on Valentine’s day that is February 14. The company has already started rolling out invites for its first India launch of 2018 that reads “5 is coming”.

UPDATE: We have spotted “Redmi Note 5” clearly mentioned in the source code event teaser page on the official website. This confirms that Xiaomi will indeed launch Redmi Note 5.
Will Xiaomi launch Redmi Note 5 or Redmi 5 Plus on February 14?
Of course, the 5 could allude to Redmi 5-series. Considering Xiaomi’s Note launch cycle, the arrival of Redmi Note 5 makes more sense but there are healthy chances that Xiaomi will launch Redmi 5 Plus instead.
We might get to see Redmi Note 5 with Snapdragon 636 chipset a couple of months from now and meanwhile, Xiaomi might keep milking the best selling Redmi Note 4.
Some credible rumors also point out that the Redmi Note 5 in India is expected to be the rebranded variant of Redmi 5 Plus, while other claims that Xiaomi might be dropping the Note moniker for good this year.
Moreover, the Redmi 5 Plus global variant was recently received global WiFi certification from WiFi Alliance (WFA) a few days back, which strongly hints at its arrival.
Xiaomi will most probably bring in Redmi 5 Plus, but we will have to wait until February 14 to know for sure.

Redmi 5 Plus Features
Whatever the name might be, the phone to launch on February 14 is most probably going to have the same hardware as the Redmi 5 Plus that was recently launched in China.
The Redmi 5 Plus in India is expected to feature a 5.7-inch Full-view display. It will be powered by Snapdragon 625/630 octa-core chipset paired with up to 4GB RAM and up to 64GB storage.
The handset has 12MP rear camera with LED flash, 5MP selfie camera, a rear fingerprint sensor, and a massive 4000mAh battery. Other features include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS + GLONASS and hybrid dual SIM slot.
