After months of rumors and anticipation, Xiaomi released its top-tier camera-centric smartphone, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. With flagship specifications and exceptional camera-related features, the handset sits at the top of the Xiaomi 14 series. Without any further ado, let’s discuss the main highlights of the smartphone. Spoiler alert – there’s no word on the phone’s Indian availibility.
Xiaomi 14 Ultra: Screen And Performance
The top-tier flagship comes with a 6.73-inch QHD+ LTPO AMOLED screen that supports a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz and a peak brightness of 3,000 nits. It also supports Dolby Visio HDR10+ for viewing exceptionally high dynamic range content.
Under the hood, the smartphone runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC (4nm). Previously, we’ve seen this chipset on smartphones like the Galaxy S24 Ultra, iQoo 12, and OnePlus 12. The chipset is combined with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. Even though these are exceptional specifications, the smartphone’s main selling point remains its gigantic camera setup.
Xiaomi 14 Ultra: Camera Details
The Ultra variant features a huge circular camera cutout on the rear panel, and it’s the first thing you’ll notice when you look at the phone. Leading the sensors is the 50MP Sony LYT-900, which measures an inch diagonally and features a variable aperture that can go as large as f/1.63 for letting more light into the sensor to as small as f/4.0, which should be beneficial in bright environments.
The remaining three are iterations of the Sony IMX858 sensor. So we have a 50MP (f/1.8, 12mm) ultrawide sensor, one 50MP (f/1.8, 75mm, 10cm macro focus) telephoto sensor for up to 3.2x optical zoom, and one 50MP (f/2.5, 120mm, 30cm macro focus) periscope sensor for up to 5x optical zoom. Apart from the primary sensor, the latter two also feature optical image stabilization. Further, the zoom cameras also double as macro shooters.
On the front, users get a 32MP (f/2.0) selfie shooter. While the primary camera can shoot 8K videos in up to 30 frames per second, the other cameras can go up to 4K resolution at 60 frames per second. With the front camera, users can shoot videos in up to 4K resolution at 60 frames per second. Further, with the Xiaomi AISP, the phone can provide up to 30x hybrid zoom.
Moreover, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra carries one of the most advanced smartphone camera systems, which can click various types of pictures. Further, the company is also selling a special Leice Pro Kit that connects to the phone’s USB-C port and provides a camera-like grip. It contains manual controls for several camera-related settings, such as switching lenses, tweaking aperture, shutter, white balance, ISO, etc.
Xiaomi 14 Ultra: Battery And Connectivity Options
The smartphone carries a 5,300 mAh battery that supports 90W wired and 80W wireless charging. Connectivity options on the smartphone include 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth v5.4, GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C 3.2 port. Additional features include an under-display fingerprint scanner, two-way satellite communication, stereo speakers, and IP68 water and dust resistance rating.
Xiaomi 14 Ultra Price
The base variant with 12/256GB configuration starts at CNY 6,499, which is about Rs. 76,000. Then there’s the 16/512GB variant that costs CNY 6,999, or about Rs. 82,000. The top model with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage costs CNY 7,799, or about Rs. 91,000.
The top model is also available in a Titanium finish, which costs CNY 8,799.
