Cricket fans, get ready for the free Indian Premier League (IPL) live streaming, as Jio has announced that it will live stream all IPL games in 4K for free on the Jio Cinema app. From March 31 to May 28 2023, there will be over 74 matches played in the Indian Premier League. These IPL matches will be streamed in 4K on Jio Cinema thanks to a proposal from Reliance that the Board of Control approved for Cricket in India (BCCI).
The digital streaming service JioCinema has unveiled various new features and technological advancements before the forthcoming Indian Premier League season.
The new intention to telecast the 16th season of IPL matches in 4K is a significant upgrade over the existing HD streaming quality. The term 4K resolution, which is four times as high as Full HD (1080p) resolution, is used to describe Ultra-HD resolution.
Reliance plans to air 10-second TV-style commercials during the game to offset the costs. The portal also has plans to broadcast the IPL in almost 11 different languages, including English, Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, and Odia. Users of the app can access scoreboards while viewing matches.
Jio Cinema live-streamed the 2022 FIFA World Cup in India for free. During the FIFA world cup, Jio Cinema and Sports18 clocked 40 billion minutes of viewing time from over 110 million viewers. Nevertheless, concerns about the feed stuttering and the Jio Cinema app malfunctioning plagued the first three days of the FIFA World Cup broadcast.
