Vivo X Fold 3 & Vivo X Fold 3 Pro Launched in China: Likely to arrive in India soon

Tech giant Vivo yesterday launched the next generation of foldables in its home country China. Successors to the Vivo X Fold 2, the Vivo X Fold 3, and the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro have gone official with quite a few differences between them. This is the first time Vivo has announced a Pro variant in its foldable series that has even better specs than the vanilla variant.

Vivo X Fold 3: Features

The Vivo X Fold 3 sports an external OLED screen of 6.53-inch with a resolution of 2480×2200 pixels. The internal display is an 8.03-inch screen with 2748×1172 pixels. Both the panels are LTPO 120Hz displays and have a maximum brightness level of 4500 nits. The foldable has a circular rear camera module and is claimed to be the thinnest foldable ever measuring just about 4.65mm when folded. It weighs 219 grams.

The foldable comes with Swiss SGS five-star drop-resistant certification and is powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. It has up to 16GB LPDDR5 RAM and up to 1TB UFS 4.0 storage. Vivo X Fold 3 packs a 5500mAh battery with 80W wired fast charging support.

In terms of the camera, there is a triple-lens setup at the back. It includes a 50MP OV50H OIS-enabled main camera and a 50MP wide-angle lens, with the third one being a 50MP portrait sensor. At the front is a 32MP selfie camera.

Additional features include wireless lossless Hi-Fi audio, WiFi 7, dual-SIM 5G, IR blaster, and NFC. The standard variant is IPX4-rated.

Vivo X Fold 3 Pro: Features

The Vivo X Fold 3 Pro comes with similar 6.53-inch external (2480×22200) and 8.03-inch internal (2748×1172) displays. These are LTPO 120Hz panels with a brightness level of 4500 nits and the foldable comes with an ultra-sonic fingerprint scanner. The design is similar to the standard model and this one has an IPX8 rating for water resistance.

Vivo X Fold 3 Pro is powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset with up to 16GB LPDDR5 RAM and up to 1TB UFS 4.0 storage. This one packs a 5700mAh battery with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging speeds. In terms of the camera, there are three sensors at the back-50MP OV50H OIS enabled main sensor, a 50MP ultrawide sensor, and a 64MP OIS periscope sensor with 3x optical zoom and 70mm focal length. At the front is a 32MP snapper for selfies. X Fold 3 Pro comes with the company’s self-developed V3 imaging chip.

Additional features of the foldable include WiFi 7, dual SIM 5G, IR blaster, NFC, and wireless lossless HiFi audio.

The Vivo X Fold 3 Pro comes in two storage configurations-

  • 16GB RAM+512GB storage- CNY 9999
  • 16GB RAM+1TB storage- CNY 10,999

The Vivo X Fold 3 comes in four storage variants-

  • 12GB RAM+256GB storage- CNY 6999
  • 16GB RAM+256GB storage- CNY 7499
  • 16GB RAM+512GB storage- CNY 7999
  • 16GB RAM+1TB storage- CNY 8999

Both phones come in white and black shades.

Vivo X Fold 3 Series in India soon

Reports claim Vivo will soon launch Vivo X Fold 3 and Vivo X Fold 3 Pro in India. It is being promoted as the thinnest foldable phone ever and will compete with the existing OnePlus Open and Galaxy Z Fold Series that are popular in the Indian market.

While nothing has been confirmed by Vivo so far, if these reports hold any substance, the launch date will be announced soon.
