Vivo S16, S16 Pro & S16e Launched With Three Different Chipsets

Chinese smartphone maker Vivo launched the all-new S-series of smartphones in China. With high-octane specs, the Vivo S16, S16 Pro, and S16e are powered by Samsung, Qualcomm, and MediaTek-powered chipsets respectively. The series has churned up quite a few features including 66W fast charging, 120Hz AMOLED panel, curved display, and more. Let’s have a look at the launch coverage for the Vivo S16 series.

Vivo S16, S16 Pro & S16e Specifications

The Vivo S16 and S16 Pro both have brought onboard curved edges on their 6.78” AMOLED panel boosting a 120Hz refresh rate. Here, the S16e gets a 6.62” flat FHD+ AMOLED panel with a 120Hz panel onboard.

Under the hood, all three models use different chipsets. The Vivo S16 uses a Snapdragon 870 SoC while the Pro gets a MediaTek Dimensity 8200 SoC. Finally, the S16e gets an Exynos 1080 SoC under the hood. The trio is bridged with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage although different storage configurations are available under each model. It uses OriginOS 3.0 based on Android 13 on the software front.

The optics are poles apart. The Vivo S16 and S16 Pro uses a 50MP selfie shooter with autofocus. On the rear, you will find a 64MP OIS snapper with 8MP ultrawide and 2MP macro while the Pro gets a 50MP IMX766 primary, 12MP ultrawide, and a 2MP macro snapper. Lastly, the S16e resorts to a 16MP front, 50MP plus two 2mp snappers each for depth and macro.

Vivo S16 trio uses 66W fast charging tech on top of 4,600mAh batteries that will keep the devices afloat for more than a day even on heavy usage. Other features included are GPS, NFC, USB-C, Bluetooth v5.1, Wi-Fi 6, and dual SIM with 5G among others. There’s a UD fingerprint scanner and face unlock support in the mix as well.

Vivo S16, S16 Pro, and S16e Pricing and Availability

The vanilla Vivo S16 is available in four storage trims. The base 8GB+128GB variant picks up a price tag of RMB 2,499 ($358); the 8+256GB is at RMB 2,699 ($386); the 12+256GB is at RMB 2,999 ($429) and finally, the top tier 12GB+512GB is priced at RMB 3,299 ($472).

The Vivo S16e was launched in three trims as well. It’s base 8+128GB carries a price tag of RMB 2,099 (or $301), the mid-tier 8GB+256GB is at RMB 2,299 ($329) and the top-tier of this budget mid-range phone at 12GB+256GB is at RMB 2,499 ($358).

Moving on to the Pro variant, you will find it in two trims i.e. 12GB+256GB and 12GB+512GB. It is priced at RMB 3,299 ($472) and RMB 3,599 (or $515) respectively. These are the pricing for the trio launched earlier today.
