Not much time has elapsed since Google’s smartphones, Pixel and Pixel XL came out in the market. If an ongoing report is to believed, their successors are already in the offing which will aim for a better camera and processor.

According to the said report, the next generation of Pixel would be brought to the market in the form of two variants, tentatively named the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2B.

Both the phones are said to be aimed at different sets of market and would differ a tad bit based on that fact. While the Pixel 2 would be the high-end smartphone that the original Pixel was, the Pixel 2B is rumored to be slightly lower on the budget, albeit with less powerful hardware.

By the looks of it, Google’s major focus for both the phones is the improvement in their optics, specially while shooting in low intensity lighting. Although the report says that the devices would not feature a relatively larger MP, but will boast of some additional features that will apparently do the trick.

Another aspect that the company is supposedly working on is the waterproofing of the phones, which is currently being said to be ‘on the table’ but is surely expected to be a sure-shot feature eventually.

While talks of MediaTek collaborating with Google for the phones were rife not so long ago, the supposed tie-up has been scrapped altogether now. Both the phones are being tested with improved chipsets, that include Snapdragon 83X and Intel ones.

Google is expecting a $50 raise in the price of the Pixel 2 as compared to its predecessor while the alleged budget variant would be considerably lower considering its targeted market.

Although there are rumors galore for the said Pixel and Pixel XL successors, these specifications, details as well as pricing are subject to change as nothing has been made official yet.
