Apple’s “Wonderlust” launch event is right around the corner, and we’re excited to see what the company has in store this year. The company should reveal the vanilla iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max at the event. Usually, new iPhones are available to purchase within 10 days of the event. However, this year, we might see a delay in iPhone 15 Pro Max shipments.

Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max Shipments Could Be Delayed

In a post on the microblogging platform X (formerly known as Twitter), Tipster @Tech_Reve claims that the iPhone 15 Pro Max release date could be delayed by up to “approximately 4 weeks.” Apparently, there’s a “severe” yield issue with the high-end image sensors required for the smartphone. As per several reports and leaks, the smartphone is supposed to ship with the best camera sensors in the lineup, including a periscope lens for extended optical zoom.

This is not the first time someone has suggested a delay in the release of the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Last week, Ming-Chi Kuo wrote that the Pro Max variant was the last to enter production after all the other models in the lineup. Earlier this year, there were reports about how Sony struggled to meet the 48MP sensor demands for the iPhone 15 series due to “insufficient production capacity.”

From what it looks like, enthusiasts might be unable to get their hands on the iPhone 15 Pro Max for some time after the release. However, the company will ramp up production to meet the demand, as it is the most premium smartphone, and a significant chunk of revenue depends on this product.

The company shipped over 26 million iPhone 14 Pro Max units from January to June this year, the most of all iPhone 14 models. Nonetheless, the iPhone 15 launch event will take place on September 12, 2023, and Apple fans around the world can watch the livestream through the company’s website or its official YouTube channel.
