Sony India has unveiled its latest premium budget BRAVIA XR X90L series of televisions, featuring the next-generation Cognitive Processor XR. The highlight of this launch is the exclusive combo offer targeting gaming enthusiasts. Sony is providing a special discount of up to Rs.24,000 when customers purchase a BRAVIA XR television from the FY23 XR range along with the highly sought-after PS5 gaming console. The offer is set to begin on July 1, 2023.
Sony Bravia XR X90L Features
The BRAVIA XR X90L series is available in three screen sizes: 75 inches, 65 inches, and 55 inches. These televisions are powered by the Cognitive Processor XR, which mimics the human brain’s functioning, understanding how humans see and hear. It achieves this by dividing the screen into multiple zones and identifying the focal point in the picture, replicating the natural human focus on specific areas.
The X90L series incorporates a Full Array LED panel along with advanced technologies like XR Contrast Pro Booster, XR Triluminos Pro, and XR Clear Image. The individually lit LEDs in multiple zones enable precise contrast adjustments, resulting in deep blacks, vibrant brightness, and a wider color gamut. XR Contrast Booster ensures optimal light balance across the screen, delivering vibrant highlights and deep shadows.
To enhance the viewing experience further, the new Bravia series includes 4K Upscaling and XR Motion Clarity technologies. These features eliminate motion blur, ensuring a smooth 4K experience even during fast-paced scenes.

Sound quality in the X90L series is taken care of by advanced technologies such as XR sound positioning with Acoustic Multi Audio and XR Surround with 3D surround upscaling. The Acoustic Multi-Audio system utilizes sound positioning tweeters to ensure high-frequency sounds emanate from the correct location on the screen, precisely matching the on-screen action. X-Balanced speakers with Dual Bass Reflex deliver powerful and clear multi-dimensional sound. XR Surround technology provides 3D surround upscaling, creating a cinematic audio format similar to Dolby Atmos, even with content that doesn’t support Dolby Atmos. The BRAVIA XR signal processing technology guarantees an immersive sound experience that adds depth and realism to the overall viewing experience.
The X90L series is designed to adapt to different environments and includes features such as Ambient Optimization, Light Sensor, and Acoustic Auto Calibration. Ambient Optimization adjusts picture brightness according to the room’s lighting conditions, ensuring an optimal viewing experience in any setting. The Light Sensor intelligently detects the viewer’s position and optimizes sound accordingly, offering an audio experience as if one were sitting directly in front of the TV.

For gaming enthusiasts, the X90L series offers seamless integration with the PS5 gaming console. The PS5 automatically recognizes BRAVIA X90L and selects the best HDR setting for the television accordingly. With Auto HDR Tone Mapping, the HDR settings are instantly optimized during the PS5 console’s initial setup, ensuring crucial details and colors are visible in high contrast scenes. The TV automatically switches to Game mode to minimize input lag and enhance responsiveness during gameplay. When watching movies on PlayStation 5 consoles, the TV switches back to standard mode to focus on picture processing for more expressive scenes. With Auto Low Latency Mode in HDMI 2.1, the X90L recognizes when a console is connected and powered on, automatically switching to low latency mode.
To cater to gamers’ preferences, the X90L series includes an easy-to-use Game Menu. This feature allows users to customize their settings, such as enabling or disabling VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) or Motion Blur Reduction, with quick access. The Game Menu also offers the ability to increase brightness in dark areas using the black equalizer, facilitating easy spotting of objects and opponents. The Bravia X90L series comprises three models: the XR-55X90L priced at Rs 139,990, the XR-65X90 priced at Rs 179,990, and the XR-75X90L with pricing and availability yet to be announced. The XR-55X90L and XR-65X90L models are available for purchase at all Sony Centers, major electronic stores, and e-commerce portals in India.
