Qualcomm is reportedly working on another mid-tier processor named Snapdragon 775. There might be a Snapdragon 775G as well and these upcoming chipsets will be successors to the Snapdragon 765 and 765G SoCs of last year.

The leak comes from a Telegram channel with the screen name XiaomiUI. It suggests Qualcomm is working on an SM7350 platform that could enter the market as the Snapdragon 775. The source also released a document explaining the specifications of the said chipset along with a comparison against its predecessor Snapdragon 765 SoC.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 775 Alleged Features

The Snapdragon 775 is said to be manufactured based on a 5nm process upgrading from 7nm fabrication used in Snapdragon 765. It has been employed with a Kryo 6-series CPU built on ARM v8 Cortex technology. The chipset is claimed to support either LPDDR5 RAM at 3200 MHz speed or LPDDR4X RAM at 2400 MHz speed. The internal storage may feature UFS 3.1 standard.

For image signal processing, Qualcomm is said to use Spectra 570 with the support of up to three 28MP cameras at the same time. The Snapdragon 775 may also allow recording videos up to 4K at 60fps. For connectivity, the chipset may include dual 5G, Wi-Fi 802.11ax, Wi-Fi 6E, 2×2 MIMO, Bluetooth 5.2, and NSA support. It may come with WCD9380 and WCD8385 audio chips.

Since this leak is the first of its kind and we don’t have any official announcements yet, we advise you to take it with a pinch of salt.

Unlike the previous year where we saw Snapdragon 765 series and Snapdragon 865 lineup launch side by side, this time, we have had to wait a bit for the 775’s arrival. The US-chip manufacturer had unveiled its flagship processor Snapdragon 888 earlier this year and a series of many premium phones have already been announced including the Samsung Galaxy S21 series (review), Xiaomi Mi 11, Realme GT, Redmi K40, and more. Qualcomm holds a good Android market share and if the alleged Snapdragon 775 launches, it would surely add to this in the dint of a few mid-range phones.
