Qualcomm earlier refreshed its mid-range 600-series lineup with the launch of Snapdragon 675, which is interesting for a number of reasons. Since the recently launched Snapdragon 670 already bridged the narrow gap between the 600-series and Snapdragon 710, we weren’t expecting another mid-range chip anytime soon. (हिंदी में पढ़िए)

But the Snapdragon 675 is a major upgrade and it perhaps already surpasses the Snapdragon 710 in terms of CPU performance (not with GPU performance, though). This was the first time Qualcomm debuted newly customized cores (Kyro-460) on a mid-range chipset, but then again the 11nm process it is based upon isn’t befitting the top of the line 800-tier.

What’s Interesting about Snapdragon 675?

The biggest upgrade in Snapdragon 675 over the SD 670 or SD 710 is the use of new Cortex-A76 CPUs as the base architecture for the two performance cores. According to Qualcomm, the new cores result in up to 15% faster app launches and 35% gains in web browsing. This could very well mean that SD 675 will be faster than SD 710 that belongs to a higher series.

Another highlight is the support for triple cameras. The Snapdragon 675 has an upgraded version of Spectra 250 ISP with an extra camera serial interface port (total 3) and will be able to handle feeds from up to three cameras simultaneously. Qualcomm also mentions that Snapdragon 675 phones will have the ability to combine HDR mode and Portrait mode for more vibrant background-blur shots.

The aforementioned features make this SoC an interesting catch for the smartphone OEMs. Recently in an informal one on one conversation, Qualcomm representative told us that response for Snapdragon 675 chipset has been really heartwarming. OEMs have been really impressed with its performance.

In fact, Snapdragon 675 powered phone is now available in India. Here’s a list of best Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 phones for your consideration:
