To activate this feature, simply press and hold the Home button. It allows users to select any item displayed on the phone’s screen by encircling it or by scribbling on it, enabling a search for related content. This feature is compatible with any application or website and typically provides immediate results. Additionally, you can enhance your image searches by incorporating text for further insights.
Galaxy AI also offers a variety of image editing tools that simplify the process of making Photoshop-like adjustments on the go. Users can remove objects, recompose, and enhance images directly within the Galaxy app. Generative AI assists in filling in sections of an image’s background or correcting misaligned images. While this feature generally performs well, there may be instances where the outcome differs significantly from what was anticipated, which is a common occurrence with generative AI technologies.
The ability to eliminate reflections in a photograph or rearrange elements without compromising the essence of the moment is truly remarkable. This can be achieved without the need for any external applications and requires no prior knowledge. Galaxy AI excels in this area. All of this functionality is accessible online, necessitating a stable Internet connection. Images processed through Galaxy AI will feature a watermark both on the image itself and in the metadata. Samsung has prioritized user privacy while implementing its innovative AI-driven features.
Another component of the Galaxy AI suite, Live Translate, is particularly beneficial for frequent travelers or those needing to converse in different languages. It provides real-time, two-way translation for phone calls (including both voice and text) directly within the native Phone app. This feature utilizes on-device AI, ensuring your privacy is safeguarded. An additional noteworthy feature is Chat Assist, which provides translation, grammar, and writing recommendations. This functionality leverages Google’s Gemini AI model and operates directly on the device, enabled by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. However, the AI processing can be somewhat sluggish, requiring several seconds to complete image finalization.
In addition to its camera-centric AI capabilities, the device features AI Smart Loop for contextual recommendations and AI image editing tools such as AI Ultra Clarity and AI Smart Removal. While these functionalities perform adequately, there is potential for enhancements in both accuracy and processing speed.

The Oppo Reno 12 Pro 5G is equipped with a plethora of AI capabilities, some of which come in handy for photography, while others make the smartphone a useful everyday assistant.
The first AI capability that I’ll be talking about is called the AI Toolbox. AI Toolbox is a part of the smart sidebar and includes three capabilities- AI Writer, AI Speak, and AI Summary. While AI Writer comes in handy when you are interacting with posts on social media, the other two have more intrinsic functions.
There were times when I opened a lengthy article to read but didn’t have the time or energy to do so. In this case AI Speak and AI Summary help by summarizing the article in brief. You can read it in short or listen to the main points to save time and energy. There is an option to choose a male or female voice to listen to AI Summary.
The other very important capability is the AI Recording Summary feature. Once I attended a conference wherein important information was being shared but I didn’t feel like writing anything down, so I used the AI recording summary feature that is a part of the Notes app. I audio-recorded the entire meeting and then tapped on the recording summary to get a gist of whatever was shared. This gets saved in the Notes app for future reference as well.
File Dock now allows you to save images from anywhere. All you have to do is drag the image and drop it in the file dock. If you are logged into your Oppo account, your images will be backed up as well.
Taking screenshots is an essential way of saving whatever you want to. However, there are times when only specific information is useful from the screenshot. This information was now able to be recorded using the Smart Touch feature. I just had to take a screenshot by three-finger swipe and choose the extract content option. Then you can long-press an image, text o even text within an image and drag it to File Dock to save it for later.
Using the AI Clear Voice feature allows you to hear the other person’s voice more clearly while on call. It filters out background noise to make communication better. There are some more AI features as well, but that will be a part of the Camera section as they are photography-related AI capabilities.
